Hi:
My keyboard refused to type some letters, and it's only caused by the ribbon cable that connects to the Amiga motherboard, because if I move it and hold it in some positions, I can write well. I have cleaned the contacts and so. As it didn't work at all, I have cut the end of the cable (1 cm), then I peeled the plastic over it on one side at the end, where it plugs in, but now it refuses to write any letter.
What must I do at the end of the cable so that it can connect right?

I've had the same problem and would like to figure this out.

Well, it seems you have to take an screwdriver and peel the contacts of the ribbon cable after peeling it of the plastic that covers it, but it isn't an straight thing, so I will buy an spare secondhand keyboard I found for around 5€... by the way, drink some water, you have to have your tongue thirsty... and BTW too, do you think I must add me more lights for Christmas?

Maybe it's loose? Tear off part of a business card and wedge it in with the ribbon connector?

two users above are wrong about how to fix this problem. i posted twice before on how to fix this problem in another thread.

Or hook up an old A500 keyboard with some hardware hacking,
I did it with an A600 with a worn out ribbon cable, when i put it in a A500 case, i believe its the same to an A1200 mobo. :) but not sure..
