About an hour ago, I just tested out an AdSpeed chip in my newly resurrected A2000. Besides that though, the Amiga's have not been getting a lot of attention lately. I'll have to do something about that  :)

Played about an hours' worth of Wings on my trusty A1000, just about an hour ago...
Then I did a little web surfing with AmiKit/Aweb - Now I'm back to Windows....

Last thing I did with a real Amiga was, er, switch it off.

That said I was running UAE a while back to generate some audio samples.  I saved them then imported them into a sampler and was able to play them properly for the first time.

Are you defining Amiga to include UAE or actual classic hardware?

Not that I suppose it'd make much of a difference - last thing I did on both was play The Settlers.

--edit--

No, not quite correct, the last time I dealt with actual Amiga hardware, it was to solder a new battery onto Rockape's A4000.

I meant classic hardware but in the end it doesn't matter :)

Does WinUAE count?  'cause I played Quake 1 all the way through just for shits and grins a few years back on WinUAE (turn on JIT and max speed and you get about 45fps @ 1024x768 running GLQuake under uaegfx).

I shot down an Antigrav Tank which made me hungry so I ate a Tyrannasaurus Rex then killed a horde of enemy Ogres with my Emerald Dragon.  But a Battle Mech came along and gunned down my innocent little dragon so I declared Global Thermonuclear War while hiding in a Shadow City and eventually won.  All in  last night's playing of Total Chaos AGA.

The A1200 is on all the time. Tonight I was playing SimCity 2000, reading my mail, posting on the groups, scanning through an AFCD32 reading an article by Andrew Korn on the demise of CU and mucking around with PNG Generator by PerSuaSive Software.

There are always fun things to do on the Amiga. Earlier I was checking several of my machines for battery status. Still have to check another 4000 and a 2000HD which can wait till tomorrow. All was fine. I always take photographs to study.

The last thing I did on my A1200 was use DiskSalv to recover my data/school projects and PC2AMIGA to move them to my new PC :(

The videoDAC became faulty and my beloved A1200 lost it's "RED" colour element, soon after the hard disk started to die. Our local'ish Amiga guys (Zoggy's computers, Unitech) moved on too, so there was no hope of repair.

Most painful transition ever, man. I always had the best looking projects in highschool, PageStream and WordWorth gave you laser printer quality from a 9-pin dot-matrix printer. DPaint gave you awesome animations and gradients, VistaPro gave you sweet backgrounds to use in geography projects, ProTracker for the background tunes. I used my Neriki genlock (still got it!) to overlay onto video for presentations

I f***ing hate you, C=/Amiga. You ruined my life. I went from being ahead of the curve and "special" for using an alternate platform that was way ahead of it's time, to being a 'sheep' in the PC realm.

Messin' with LW, ImageFX,DPaintV,PPaint7.1... I call Telnet BBS' only on my miggies.... just doesn't feel right on PC's.....

Um, I'm rarely doing one thing at a time on my miggies..... :hammer:

Last thing I did (earlier this week) is to compose a 30 sek tune for a podcast. I used OctaMed on my Amiga 3000 and a Yamaha TG100. I recorded the music with audacity running under Windows 7.
Then I used AmigaOS 4.1 on a SAM to mix and cut the podcast and uploaded it with PetesFTP to the site. I used CygnusEd on the same box to hand-code the RSS and related files.

If however UAE counts, I was just (lamely) browsing some old CDs (yesterday) and installed Amigantt - just in case.

Last thing I did on the Amiga was continue work on the Catweasel drivers for AOS 4, so that people like klx300r can use their SID chips and stuff. :) As soon as my girlfriend gets up and goes to church, I'll be going back to work on it some more... I want to get a proper release real soon now (tm) as the os4depot version is waaaaaay out of date now.

@klx300r
How are you getting on with it, is it working? Have you tried stereo SIDs yet? :)

Hi,

I am back on this site to see the news about amiga ...
The last time I used my A4000T was to use Bars & Pipes and sequence a song.
Otherwise I work on my G5 double processors for editing videos and surfing the net.
I have many Amigas and was thinking of selling a few ?
Anyone interested ?

About 7 or 8 years ago I think.  Putting my old A4000/Mediator/CSPPC side-by-side with my then-new Pegasos and seeing the same apps running perfectly at speeds I'd only dreamt of, then taking pictures of the A4000 for eBay.

I last did this - 5 minutes ago :-

Still disappointed by the overheating A1200 causing graphics corruption and random crashes.  Is it the caps?  Most seem to be tantalum (?) anyway - only 3 elctrolytics on the board.  I've now removed the metal shielding to enable better airflow ... and still it crashes when hot :(

You shouldn't be experiencing an overheating A1200 unless maybe you have an 040 card and/or a bunch of other power hungry or heat producing internal goodies. Indivision ECS maybe? Get yourself a tiny/silent fan or two, the kind made for processors, to put in there and see if that helps. Easy to mount those little fans either on top of the case by the vents or underneath them, inside the case.

When I had an Indivision AGA, it would get real hot and eventually start producing random lines on the screen. And yeah, sometimes the computer would crash. This was with an A500 supply, 030 card and a 2.5" HD. I placed a single little fan on top of the case, blowing into the machine and it was much, much happier  :)

Have you got a bunch of internal peripherals and are using a stock A1200 power supply? If so, you might want to get yourself an A500 supply or a modded modern PC supply with an adapter.

Don't joke - now we have both our A1200's online, email (YAM?) is the next step!

I need to give my miggy some medical attention first though.  I think she just needs some TLC - my girlfriend says I should have never resurrected her from the dead - implying she'll be doomed to live in some sort of zombie state now.  Apparently I should have let her rest in peace.  I almost feel guilty now :s

I suppose it depends on how we define "amiga".  My definition includes Classic, the various emulations and newer generation systems (AROS, MorphOS and OS4).  The last time I used my A2000HD was a few years ago.  I've been using my PPC system since around Christmas time of 2004.  Right now I'm posting this reply with OWB.

Hi,

The last thing I did on my Amiga was go through my software boxes looking for any disks that I could LHAarc down and transfer to my PC so that I could make a DVD of all these LHAarc disks. This works great for unprotected disks of which I think there were just about 10 of them (LOL). No really I really am making lha DVD of all unprotected disks that I have. This way I don't have to worry about some of my disks like dpaint IV, Final Copy, etc.

I also played Soliton and listened to some MODS while doing this. Takes time on some of these disks to LHA.

OK, I just wanted to play soliton, and listen to mods while the Amiga was doing its multi tasking.

I thought I read the subject as the last thing you EVER did on Amiga before abandoning it, which in my case I would have been negotiating a trade of my A3000 for a PC on a Amiga BBS in the early 90s. Sad day that was...

A few days ago, after a year of searching, I did finally find a higher end Amiga locally for an affordable price (I was looking for an A3000 or A4000). Someone was advertising his vintage computer collection for an upcoming garage sale and an A4000/030 with a 1942 monitor was going to start at $60 and go down in price as the day went on. He knew it was worth a lot more so I'm not sure why he let it go so cheap other than he's a real nice guy. I offered $100 if I could get it before the sale and happily it's mine now. It looks to be in great shape other than a yellowed faceplate as I would guess it was only used for a couple of years. Even has the A4000 box. So anyway, last thing I did was boot it up and check it out. My daughter drew something in DPaint IV (she really likes Amigas and always wants to play on them!). I was curious about the new AGA graphics modes that I've never had the chance to try so tried Workbench in different resolutions. Eventually tried Super72 and realized the 1942 won't handle it, so then spent 5 minutes trying to guess where to click as my screen was unsynced so that I could get back to a working mode. Figured that was enough scare, turned it off =). Will check the battery and examine the machine in more detail when I get some time.

Before taking a break, I was working on a FrexxEd (best programmers editor for 2.x/3.x, and no longer shareware!) based integrated assembler environment (with extra features and cleanups/rewrites of FPL scripts), so I can finally move away from AsmOne (not bad, but the editor sucks big time).

It's coming along nicely I must say.
