Title: A600 without diskdrive
Post by: Guille64 on September 17, 2010, 09:57:33 PM
Hello again,

I am building an A600 but haven't disk drive. When I put it on the 600 seems to look for a disk drive (and the light starts to blink), after a few seconds the wb screen appears, showing memory and otrher stuff, but the clock-point remains on the screen, like searching for something (diskdrive?) and so on, keeping me unable to do anything forward.
I don't know what to do. I know it is possible to use the Amiga without a diskdrive. Maybe changing some sequence in the startup? But how to do this if the point-clock freezes?

Thank you and regards,

Guillermo

Did you remove any references to DF0: in your Startup-Sequence, such as AddBuffers?

Just put a  ;  before any line you want to disable, rather than deleting the whole line.

Thank you, Cammy; surely thats the way to solve the problem. But, is there any way to acces the startup squence before the loading freezes?

Thank you and regards,

Guillermo.

Hold down both mouse buttons when you turn it on, and you'll get a boot menu. There should be an option for "boot with no startup sequence" or such. (Sorry, answering from my phone, no Amiga around...)

Sadly I enter the startup sequence pressing the buttons of the mouse, disabled DF:0 but nothing changed. I am afraid that the problem is more difficult to solve. The light of "floppy" remains on and the clock-pointer doesn't disapear at all.
Thank you both, after all.

Guillermo.
