Post by: kickstart on September 15, 2010, 06:38:54 AM
After some hours spent trying to install some games from floppys (shadow of the beast series) i havent any success, when installer start to copy the image from floppy fails, what happend?

Escom floppy drives may work under amigaos for make floppy images or maybe not?

If the error is on the escom drives... what is the definitive fix for that?

Thanks!

I think you hit the problem on the head: ESCOM with their pc drives are not supposed to work correctly.

Buy an adaptor from Ian Stedman (he is selling those on his site). The adaptor will cure your issues.

Yes,  i know the lost of ready signal on escom motherboards, but if installer runs under amigaos may read the disk track by track?

Why don't you just get them readily installed at WHDownLoad (http://www.whdownload.com/)? Saves some hassle :)

Or then do the floppy fix (http://www.softpres.org/article:hard:fixing_the_amiga_technologies_a1200_fdd_connector).
