Title: GVP-M 4060DT CPU Chargeover
Post by: amiga1084 on September 13, 2010, 07:42:08 PM
Hello All.

My GVP-M 4060DT when I first bought the card had 68060EC 50MHZ last week I was checking out ebay USA and I found a full 68060RC 60MHZ for only 25USD. So I bought 2 one for the card and the another as spare. But when I install the new cpu into the card, it refuses to boot. Do I have to change the 50MHZ crystal as well or have I just bought cheap chiness crap.

Even if you don't have my problem has anyone else bought these cheap cpu's and are happy with them or was it a waste of money too.

I would like to hear your comments on this subject.

Thanks in advance,

Merv Stent

Nope.

Are you absolutely sure you've got the right orientation? All pins intact on both new chips?

Probably. Put up a couple of (in focus) photographs of the two chips and the one that works.

I take it your accelerator still works with the old CPU?
