Hi,
On the Dutch Amiga forum Tahoe commented on my 3.9 bootdisk issue with my PicassoIV. He pointed out this site for a firmware update, and to my amazement it contains a 7.4 update for the PicassoIV firmware apparently release September 1st 2010!.
Has anybody tried this update?
find it here: http://sophisticated-development.de/software/index.php

That's great news, the PicassoIV was always a great card.

Really nice to see updates even in 2010 :)
What are the benefits of the new firmware?

It supposedly fixed an issue with the flickerfixer settings. On some systems a vertical refresh is used that is too low, or settings are not remembered. The thread at EAB is pretty extensive, and there is some discussion on a1k.org as well.

This is the thread on a1k.org:

I don't think it contains any real additional features. Minor bug fix for something which (you could already do with a work around) only affects a few users.
Appreciated non the less.

Has anyone installed it?
Unfortunately I don't sprechen zie deutsche...

Yes I have it on my PicassoIV and it works fine.
