Title: Ram for a1200 blizzards
Post by: kickstart on September 05, 2010, 02:37:34 AM
Hi...

Im looking for 64mb simms like this:

http://cgi.ebay.es/64MB-PS-2-72pin-Edo-Ram-Commodore-Amiga-1200-Turbo-/260645307211?pt=Klassische_Computer&hash=item3cafabc34b

Look like a double sided simm, that ones are compatible with the blizzard 1260?

DO EBAY searchers for the ram size, type and speed. Whatever you do don't mention Amiga or Blizzard in your searches as you'll find overpriced ram sold by Amiga hoarders.

I found a 128mb simm on ebay for $12 over a year ago. I've seen them pop up every now and then. One mans Rubbish is another mans treasure.

Have to agree with Crom00 here.....
Best bet, look for the cheapest SIMMs you can find, and then buy a couple from different sellers... if you want to be safe....

I got lucky, ran across an EBay listing with 128MB SIMMs.... the seller was obviously not into computers.... when I asked her if it was single-, or double-sided, speed, etc. , she was quite confused.....
Anyway, the $15.00 SIMM fit my 1260, worked fine... so I immediately contacted the seller and bought a second one. :afro:

So, give it a shot, and if/when you find a suitable SIMM, be sure to ask the seller if he/she has another for sale. :)

Otherwise, maybe someone on here has a spare 64MB SIMM....

Note: I do not have a spare 64MB SIMM.... I have 2 spares

This is a problem on ebay. There this one seller... lol...I guess he found out sony PVM monitors work with Amigas so he has a monitor that routinely sels for $75-$150 listed for $450 or something like that. The aucton text lists it as an "Amiga / Atari monitor" or something like that.. I've seen the same monitor gofor as low as $50 usd.

A couple years back I bought a bunch of 2.5 2 drive ide cables for the A1200. Made the mistake of telling the seller they worked on the Amiga.... Price spikes ($14 from 3.50) and revised Ebay store listings geared towards Amiga users followed soon after..

Oh and video cables... look out!!!! got a quote of $79 the other day.
