good news but please tell us when v6 is coming out...September is already here now & still no news????

Integration as-in "running in UAE"?
I'll pass, thank you.
-
Integration means:
running via JanusUAE, shared clipboards (AROS/AmigaOS), Coherency mode
It feels(a little bit) like running Classic on OS X.
It is just an offer and since AROS is missing such a software and others, why shouldn't we use JanusUAE and well made, productive applications?
Especially i'm curios which "Integration" gives better compatibility and speed.
I don't mean theoretical speed - i mean real life performance.

For me integration means more than repackaging your old 68k apps. As I said, I'll pass.

Who cares?

Thank God that was for immediate release.

Aladdin 4D 6.0 will be native for MorphOS of course. Unfortunately that version does not yet have an official shipping date. Over 3000 hours have gone into the development of 6.0 and Aladdin 4D 6.0 Stable release 6.0.0.6 (Internal Beta) came out on July 12th, 2010.

How about those screenshots (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showpost.php?p=572494&postcount=5)?
Also does this mean you will be missing your september 2010 deadline? (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showpost.php?p=574929&postcount=3)

The Wikipedia entry for LightWave 3D has this too. What's your point?

No point other than that the article doesn't seem to be objective. Reads much like advertising.
BTW, where are the screenshots of Aladding 4D 6? Also, are you going to miss the deadline of September 2010?
those of us who bought last year were promised v6 for Amiga OS4.1 by September of this year else we get our money back and get to keep v5.0

It isn't "much like" advertising, it IS an advertisement. Ad copy, nothing more. And it should either be fixed to be objective or it should be taken down.

Piru I hate to agree with you but I will :). Are we renaming Amiga.Org sponsored by Aladdin 3Dee introducing ARES for all your computer needs. News....is for reporting the news, not making the news. I did feel this was an advert not news !. Better luck next time.
TBH I think the powers that be should ask outside the "interested parties" to report on the "news" rather than reporting it themselves, pls. Cheers. Lets not become the mouthpiece of the owner, that would be rather unwise.

LOL, your very passionate about one of the greatest evils in the world. A4D being on Wikipedia, better hobbies can be found.
@Boudicca
This was Pascal's idea not mine, but he does have a great bundle of hardware that works well with AROS and nice software including Amiga Forever 2009 OEM, Frying Pan, Etc. He is doing a lot to help the AROS market. You could always ignore this news if it does not interest you. It is of interest to AROS users and Amiga.org does not discriminate. AROS, MorphOS, Amiga OS 4.x and classic Amiga users are all welcome here. We even like Draco and Amiga Forever users too.
:)

@Piru
About screen shots and ship date? As a software developer yourself you know very well about the difficulty in completing software, tracking down bugs and delivering a quality product to customers. Aladdin 4D 6.0 required major heart and guts surgery to make it multi-platform and ready. It was neglected for ten years before we got it. I'll allow it to be sold when I'm happy that it's of a high enough quality for customers.

Yes. I also know about such things as meeting a deadline and keeping one's promises and/or not promising something you cannot deliver.

I'll interpret that as "no screenshots anytime soon" and "yes, we will miss the deadline and pay back some of our customers as promised".

I'm sure the majority of us don't mind waiting to get the new Aladdin V6.x a little later than expected...I personally am happy just knowing that DiscreetFX is supporting Amiga software and couldnt care less for a self imposed deadline BUT it would be nice to have more frequent updates on the new version and please some screenshots:)...also it was mentioned last year that a simple 2D CAD program might be included with Alladin v6.x so any info on this is much appreciated as well

I guess it's not a problem to show screenshots since it's already stable, right ?
-
@Piru
Since when has ANYTHING is post-Commodore Amiga land been on time or on budget? Give the guy a break. His reasons are valid ones.
-

That's the Mac OS X version.
-
Just a little something about the wikipedia article being an advertisement. Well, I submitted the article about a year ago iirc after Pyromania had asked (I think here in amiga.org) if someone could expand the existing article and not get deleted. So, although there have been some additions to it as I checked it again now (the intended iphone version for example), the bulk of it has remained the same. And, as far as I know I have no affiliation to DiscreetFX and I had no intention to advertise a product through wikipedia. I merely posted (actually expanded an existing tiny) article so that info for an amiga program wouldn't be lost from wikipedia.

@Vulture
Puts this spat into some perspective. Thanks.

We want to thank everyone for their feedback both positive and negative. We use it to improve our process.

will Aladdin be able to use native picasso II screens?

I agree, better to get it right then to release a problem.
In the old days a lot of programmers released problems after it was hyped up.
It was the #1 reason so many users left

Sure, you can do that right now with the current version.
