I fear that my trusty 1942 is on its last legs? Today when I turned on there was a fuzzing electric noise for 2-3 seconds and then it went away, now the screen has a blusih tinge to it. The grey from teh workbench appears almost light blue and the reds are almsot black.
Any thoughts? Can it be fixed?
thanks

Sounds like you lost a cap or transistor in your red color circuit. I can be fixed but will need some one with experience in monitor repair. Maybe it's time to get one of those new flicker fixers....

I too had a similar problem with my 1942 monitor, only it was just the red on mine that went.
Traced the fault to the circuit board on the neck of the tube, required a couple of transistors & some ceramic capacitors replacing. Ten minute job & has worked fine since. The service manual I sent you should help you in fixing this problem. Tracking down the right components or alternative, that can be quite tricky though... :)
