Hello All,
I've been checking out prices on Ebay on genuine Escom A4000T and they seem to sell for a hole lot less than genuine A3000T, I am wondering why besides the better build quality case A4000T has a hole lot more going for it like AGA, Fastscsi 2,newer chip set etc etc etc
Check out this A3000T on Ebay at the moment

I would like to hear your comments on this subject
Thanks in advance,

...genuine ...Escom?
I think the Escom 4000T's (still available NOS last I heard) are alot more common than the 3000Ts. If a C= 4000T ever showed up, though, you can bet it'd blow away the 3000T's on eBay.

built-in VGA and SCSI ports. No need add-on cards.
That could be the beginning of the answer.
Moreover the tower version is very rare.
A "must have" :)

I have had both. Once you add a good accelerator and a graphics card there is not much difference, unless you plan on playing games. The built in flicker fixer on the A3000T allows you to pass flicker fixed video through a card like the Picasso II, allowing you to use one monitor. With the A4000T you have to get a Picasso IV. The A4000T is easer to find memory for, and if I remember right has one more Zorro slot. The A4000T uses standard power supplies, which was a big deal a couple of years ago when my A3000T supply went bad. (Took a while to find one.) When I had to start thinning out old computers a couple of years ago, the reason I kept the A4000T over the A3000T was the AGA graphics.

The A4000T may be more common but i still have not been able to find a "Front door" for mine. :(

I've tried to get my hands on a Amiga 3000T for quite a while. They are rare and when sold - outrageously expensive to ship. IMHO you can only get one when it falls through your roof or you find one in the neighbors garage... Otherwise, too many collectors and traders active, thus high prices.

An A3000T made by Commodore is a classic piece or original Amiga hardware and truly a beautiful thing to have. An A4000T from Escom is a post Commodore machine and available even today if I recall. If you could find an original A4000T from the Commodore days then please contact me private. So as a collectors piece the 3000T is going to fetch more. Saying that my first A3000T cost £100. My first A4000T cost £750. My second A3000T cost £325. I even have a brand new spare case for the A4000T. Sadly not for sale.

I would suggest anything A4000 is going to give you the most options for expansion for more modern options. An A4000d in a tower is probably still the most versatile... But thats only my view.

I'm selling my very clean, non-yellowed, 3000T for ~700 USD + shipping. I don't have the box but mine is certainly nicer looking and it comes with an extra front plastic piece.

Nice ;-) What are you including? You'll probably put it up in Marketplace?
Also, I have a bad feeling about the Ebay auction of the 3000T, just look at the bidding history and draw your own conclusions...

The A3000T is a much rarer machine than the a4000T, I have every major release except the A3KT. (Major meaning I dont have a A2500, A1500... wouldnt mind a A3500 though heh)
In the UK you never see them come up!

My memory is a little fuzzy here so please bear with me if I give misinformation.
The Escom 4000T and the C= 4000T are essentially the same parts internally, at least early on. My Escom 4000T had some C= branded parts, I just don't remember which specific ones. I do know the Escom 4000T case was an AT case made by Enlight. I found extra drive rails at one of my local pc shops. The power supply likewise, just a standard "AT" type.

It's a nice kit :)
