Post by: XDelusion on August 20, 2010, 08:47:55 PM
I know this has been discussed a million times, but one detail I have yet to acquire is what model it is exactly that runs AROS flawlessly?

There's certain models of Acer Aspire One that are fairly well regarded when it comes to aros use, with full support for sound/nic/gfx. Only problem thus far is that native support for the intel gfx can only be used via an external source (ie, monitor or tv). To use the laptop screen you'll need to use vesa modes for now although there's a developer who has recently expressed interest in redeeming this. Additionally any machine with similar hardware should work equally as well. I have no doubt there's plenty of others too, AROSes hardware support is quite reasonable for an alternative OS these days, but due to the low number of "amiga" users let alone AROSes share of that pie relatively few laptops have probably been tried.
