My pet peeve is demanding attention.  If there are no words to a piece of music then it is not a song.

We refer to birds 'in song' yet there are no words. Although most other references point to a musical composition that is called a song as having some component of singing or spoken voice.

Technically it is the vocal of the birds as are the words of humans.
