Yeah i have mac os running under basilisk 2 but its a slow hardfile..I want it to run under a partion so i do i convert this?
Thanks...

Ironically, I found a hardfile I used for SS was faster than a partition :-o
The blocksize of the partition the hardfile was on was set to 4Kb and had a a fair bit of buffering. I am wondering if the emulated mac, requesting say 512byte HSF blocks at once was getting automatic 'read ahead' optimisation thanks to the larger physical blocksize on the amiga side...
me wonders...

Does anyone know?

Hi Gav,
I'm not too familiar with Basilisk, but it should just be a matter
of creating your partition using the Basilisk "prefs", allowing the
"Mac" to format the partition next time the emulator is run, and
then copying your wanted files from the hardfile to the "real"
partition (on the "Mac" side, of course). Any partition that contains
a "System" folder can be selected as the boot partition in the prefs.
Check your docs for specifics, though.

use:
Addbuffers partition_where_you_have_the_hardfile: 2000
for example ;-)
it should boost performance a lot.

Hi Gav,
I see you are making use of that Hardfile i have given you. I am about to do the same thing now. I think you would have to partition a Mac Hard Drive inside emulation. I am not too sure yet. I am currently using Shapeshifter now, it has more features, but for me is still way too slower than Basisk II. If Basilisk II had these features, then i would use that no contest. Basilisk II is way fast when you properly configure it (or poorly configue Shapeshifter)!

IIRC you can not create a partition under basilisk2, at least for the amiga version so you have to create the partition from shapeshifter.
