Hi folks,
I'd like to have a go at cloning the Golden Gate 2, but that requires me to find one to dump the PALs and GALs. If anyone has one rotting in a closet, or even one that's broken, please consider lending it to me for a week or two. Ideally, you'd be in the US, to keep shipping costs down, but I'm happy to cover any and all costs related to shipping this around to/from Europe as well.
Thanks in advance!

What is I send you the roms already dumped? :)
You just have to let me resume my board (I mean, I need some time to dig on my hw cave.. )

I need to trace out the signal paths as well, and would rather re-verify dumps of the PALs (they're not ROMs) if there are already any in existence.
Let me know when you find it :)

opssss...forgive me..you were talking about pal and gal, not roms...
Yes, for them you need to handle the board phisically .
And no, I'm not in the US, I'm in europe, (high delivery price and maybe duty too)
so better you find out someone else closer to you.
Anyway, I'm so curious about your project...what's the final goal?
To really clone the GG2 ???

Yep, just a full clone. It's not that complicated. I'll also be capturing signal data for devices which I can't dump with my HP logic analyzer. I'm happy to pay actual shipping if nobody else pipes up. There is no incoming duty charged for things which arrive here, at least.

This is the one I guess? http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/goldengate2

That's the one. There are only four GALs; The remaining components are discrete logic.

oh, i think a_perez should be given a prize for most frequent never accomplished project poster with a rate of two per week, if eab threads taken into account. so beware

Merely establishing viability here. You can hate elsewhere.

no hate, just wonder. obviously none is seriously taking it into account anymore.

Responses such as "none is seriously taking it into account anymore." are not only laughable for their atrocious English, but also lay bare your mean-spirited finger-jabbing.

Maybe it's easier to just use blackbox reverse engineering?, after all the prerequisites are quite established Zorro-II in one end, ISA-16 in the other without DMA. And Amiga drivers to tickle it and see what it needs.
GAL/PAL reading could be accomplished by a FPGA piggybacked that passivly reads I/O changes and responses.

Waw..would be interesting if you had a blog with updates about the work you are doing.
I know there is no incoming duty, but they could be once you send me back the GG2.
Moreover, honestly I don't like the idea to send my board oversea, not after all the efforts I made to get it. Forgive me.
Anyway, I'm sure you will find someone else closer who helping you.
(sorry about my english)

@aperez: my english is what it is. you may obviously do what you want with your time, none of my business. but yourself, what would you think of people announcing an enormous load of different projects one after the other of which there was never a mention of any further progress? its just difficult to take it seriously.

*back from visiting the Grand Canyon, please excuse the delay*

Unintelligible, you mean? Don't take this the wrong way, but I seriously did not understand what it was you were trying to convey.

I think the actual problem here is that your perception of what I'm up to is fundamentally out of line with reality, and with my stated goals. This is a simple fact-finding mission, to evaluate feasability. I have "announced" nothing, other than my desire to spend an hour or two with a physical Golden Gate 2.
You *SEEM* to just like to troll, and there are plenty of posts to back up my assertion on this front, if one can be bothered to peruse the archive of your posts. It is rare that you have anything of value to contribute.
