Hi,
Can someone please tell me what (SSI), [cr SKR], [a3] mean given the following title;
Eye of the Beholder II - Advanced Dungeons& Dragons (1992)(SSI)[cr SKR](Disk 1 of 4)[a3]
I find these common symbols a lot however I do not know what they mean!!
Thanks for any help,
Sim085

At an educated guess I'd say the (SSI) is the game publisher (Strategic Simulations Inc.), [cr skr] means "Cracked by Skidrow", so it's a pirate copy with the copy protection removed. [a3] I'm not sure about - maybe it means it needs Kickstart 3?

(SSI)
The name of the publisher. Other stuff noted in round brackets might be the Chipset required ("(AGA)") or the language of the title ("(De)").
[cr SKR]
cracked by Skid Row. If the crack contains a trainer it's noted in another pair of square brackets ("[t +4 Goonies]").
[a3]
Alternative version no. 3. "Alternative version" means that this disk is slightly different than the very first version of the disk that has been discovered. For completeness' sake, all known variations of a disk are archived - just stick with the first versions added to the database (i.e. those disks without any "[a]" suffix) unless you have a good reason not to do so.

Ah, that'll teach me not to refresh ;) Interesting, thanks Piru, never saw that before... apparently [a3] is an alternative version, so small differences from the original.

Thanks people for the replies :) now I understand better!!
