Title: DENEB and custom Kickstart ROM
Post by: sniken on July 11, 2010, 08:19:56 PM
Hi!

I was wondering how to make a custom Kickstart ROM for use with DENEB. Would I still need a SetPatch with this approach or do i just comment it out in the startup-sequence?

For now I have only added modules to DENEB instead of using LoadModule, but using the SetPatch program still makes the Amiga reboot once. It would be great if I could avoid a reboot.

In BoingBag4 there is an update to graphics.library and LoadResident to load it. When it successfully loads and SetPatch reboots my Amiga it goes into a never ending reboot loop and I need to shut down the Amiga. I own a A4000 CSPPC and CVPPC. I guess I really don't have a need for the new graphics.library, but it's still annoying problem.

Thanks

I don't have a Deneb...

You get a loop-reboot with the new graphics.library into the Deneb ?

You can use Remus to construct a custom kickstart rom which you can then upload to the Deneb using Luciferin.

I have tried to follow what i found at
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=581915
and
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=21599
without being very lucky. So I'll just stick to loading the DENEB with all the ROM files and use "SetPatch NOROMUPDATE" in startup-sequence.

As for graphics.library_40.25b8 I loaded it to the DENEB. I did not experience any continuous resetting, but the library did not seem to get loaded after checking with "version full graphics.library" (showing 40.24). Also, I did try to patch the library my self, both aga and ocs/ecs versions as i wasnt sure which i needed to use. No luck. However, it does load fine in E-UAE.
