AmigaOneX1000 with Natami expandability. AmigaOS4 with MorphOS MUI and DOpus Magellan menus and much more expandability.

I'd to have like about $500000000, a gremlin and world peace

As long as there is no world peace, I will not bother or have any of them.

I'd like to have a timemachine and maybe a couple of halvliter'n...

LOL. A timemachine with a couple of cans of beer on the trip is good.

Let me quote a recent exchange that I had with another member on MorphZone.
"In terms of Dhrystone an e600 core above 1.72 GHz would outperform a 1.8 GHz PA6T core"
I want you to keep in mind that the person who posted that thinks very highly of the PA6T (the processor in the X1000).
But the hardware we're running already comes close to the above mentioned speed and future hardware could run that fast or faster.
So, for a fraction of the cost, I can get hardware that performs almost as well as the X1000 now and upgrade later to even better hardware later.
And the Natami developers have already nixed the idea of an add on card.
If you like native 68X systems so much, why not wait and get a Natami?
-
I'd like to have a modern Amiga that costs about what I paid for my A1200: around US$400. Provide an expansion port to upgrade the processor and add an expansion option for the GPU, too.
This leads me to the question. With modern day mass production and electronics as comodities, why can't Amiga hardware be made available for the same prices as they used to be? Particularly the price levels of the A500, A1200, A600?

@Iggy
I think it's meant by one core/32bit. And the point of a combination of AmigaOne and Natami is to avoid having to use the UAE. I prefer to use one physical computer instead of two and three or more. But I am aware Natami will not be an expansion card.
Anyway, if I had a replacement for A1260PPC or rather a 4000 with CyberstormPPC but was 10-15 years ahead, I would have paid what it would be for it. And now I'll stop dreaming.
@DavidF215
Expect the answer to your question is, the market is too small. There is the Sam440 or 460 card, but the price is too high in my opinion.

:laughing:
Pretty good idea, you could go back in time and kick the asses of the Commodore designers and give them modern day pc wih an Intel 980X and an A4000T with a Cyberstorm PPC card and say, now combine these and make this the best machine ever :roflmao:
I'm sure we would live in a world of superfast Amiga computers with hollographic capabilities :roflmao:

Wow, legitimate (non-wise ass) answers. You know you've got a valid point here and I think there is a market for something like that, I'm just not sure its large enough to justify the expense of development.
I wouldn't mind a PPC supplemented Natami either, but the development team doesn't seem interested.

I'd like to go swimming in my Halloween costume...

>AmigaOneX1000 with Natami expandability.
This has been discussed to death allready, just adding the chipset to a PPC computer will add 0.0 benefits but lots of unneeded costs and troubles. Adding a full Natami is even more pointless but if you insist, I'm sure you average E-ATX-tower will leave enough room to duct-tape the Natami somewhere on the inside.
>AmigaOS4 with MorphOS MUI
Just forget about TheName and simply use MorphOS...
>and DOpus Magellan menus and much more expandability.
There isn't much of Magellan you will be missing after getting into Ambient.
-
@Kronos
I can not understand why this would be pointless if it could relieve the main processor. I have Blizzard and bvision in 1200'n and here I use no duct-tape.
And, why can not you just forget about TheName and use Amiga in that case?
And I do not miss Magellan, I removed it from the system after a few years,
it was useless so I use dopus4 and AOS3.9 instead. SID2 was also good by the way.
-
And no imagine how fast the 603 on your Blizzard would be if it hadn't to drag that 040/060 around ... and more important, how much cheaper those cards could have been.
Having a chipset (OCS,AA or Natami) around in a nextgen-Amiga is pointless as pretty much all SW needing it runs better on a full UAE-setup, RTG-SW runs much faster on Radeons and even if you could put a chipset in there, the restriction on timing and addressing introduced to the whole system would be counterproductive.
Adding an 68k-CPU would make things even worse ....
-
You have probably right in this. So when all is said and done, is not any of these MorphOS or AmigaOS4 and AmigaNG computers worth a dime.
Windows has all the imaging SW on much better hardware, so with WinUAE is MorphOS and AmigaOS4 with E-UAE completely unnecessary if I understand it right.
-
Next generation open source Amiga-like OS with full MP/SMP, multiuser, 2D/3D accelerated drivers for nVidia or ATI, multiuser support, and with OEM contracts to support the Devs.

This may be a little OT, but it's what I'd like to have...
A 24bit paint program on Windows/Amiga/whatever that use bitmapped/bitplaned technique for color pallet.
Don't know if that is right, but take DPaint for example in OCS/AGA. A 32 color pallet. Each color has it's own place.
-I may have 3 of the exact same RED, but they are all an individual color.
-If I do color Cycling they change in a different order.
-I can make a "Matte" and specifically select the color position, not just the color.
Are there any 24bit paint programs that work like that?
-
@dammy
Yes agreed, and a sort of wrapper so you can use windows apps like Maya, Cubase, Firefox, and everything else. And a Natami expansion cards of course. Windows spoiled me under the Amiga Civil War.

Ok I'll be wanting a junkyard full of old VW rabbits and an endless 12 pack of beer. Oh and world peace.

I'd like the mods to close that another stupid thread.
