Yippee.
I finally found myself a Mac Mini today, 1.5ghz w/ 1gb ram, OSX 10.5 .... $130 (not too bad I hope.). Soon to have MorphOS on it..... I can't wait.
BTW, I never touched a Mac before and am already impressed using the Mac OS, it seems nice compared to Vista.
My only worries are now my Amiga and C64 projects get put on the back burner a little longer.... too many projects but soooo much fun!

Are you sure it is PPC Mac?
MOS won't work on Intel MiniMacs!

It was not what he should use it to..!... Wonder if I should not care about the Amiga for a while and let others take over. OK, I stick to Windows..
MorphOS and AmigaOS is so far behind, there is no point to support them.

Obviously I can't speak for the man but the odds are it is a PPC MacMini - there were some 1.5ghz intel models released but they almost immediately jumped up to 1.66 and beyond.
Not saying it isn't, and by "some" of course even for Apple means several tens of thousands, just that the odds on would be that it's a PowerPC based one.

Congratulations! :)
That's a very good price, especially if it's a silent upgrade (64MB VRAM) and not just a slightly overclocked 1.42GHz one (but that one is fine too).
Welcome aboard!
:)

You probably want to keep the system as dual boot (Mac OS X and MorphOS) then. Here are the instructions on how to do it:

or

Yes, its the 64mb vram version.... the only thing it doesn't have is wifi and bluetooth but I am hoping to install that in the future.

64M vram version should come with those pre-installed.

Yes, I believe so. But, unfortunately, I think the original owner removed both the wifi and bluetooth for another one of his Macs. :( Didn't discover that until I got home but I think I just got a lead for another Mini that has these.
What have I gotten myself into! :)

What now, wait just a minute, you won a Mini for 130$ but now you are bidding on anotherone?
Just so you know, neither wifi or bluetooth works under MorphOS, so why are you bidding on one more machine when you just boght one?

Who said anything about bidding?
I said that I have a lead on another Mac Mini, which I DO plan to use wifi and bluetooth with on the Mac side. This has more goodies with it for even less and includes wifi/bluetooth so how can I say no.

..but first, tell us how you really feel about using Apple computers as Amigas!

You ask me? I have never used an Apple computer as an Amiga computer. I will never do it, Mac and Amiga are two completely different computers on the same line as the new Mac and WinPCes are different. Amiga computer is an alternative to all the other computers. And it's not OSet that makes a computer alone.
-
How about an AmigaOne, does that count?

Of course, even if it is not exactly what I wanted.
Well here comes OSet into the picture.
-
Pegasos? Efika? SAM?

This was hell to rush, I do not want any of them. Maybe Pegasos2G4.

What on earth do you want then?

But would you say any of them count as Amiga, keeping in mind the SAM and the Pegasos run OS4?

It is not a typical Apple or anything else, I have counted again PPC was the next step after 68000 CPU, and I do not care of people who try to squeeze. Of course, x86 is an option, but how boring is that? But anyway, I have other things to do with my time now. There are many options.

Ahhh... But WinUAE+Amikit+OS3.9 IS an Amiga.... ok I see.
Amiga rules! In 1990 maybe :)

Yeah!
Who ya gonna believe him or your lying eyes?
Old 68K Amiga are O.K.
Anything that runs AOS 4 is O.K.
But MorphOS hardware is NOT O.K.
Huh?
No, don't ban him. I use MorphOS regularly, but halviter'n is good comedy relief.
Hey dude is a Natami an Amiga? What about the overpriced X1000? And, if an X86 running emulation software is (and its a lot cheaper), why don't we forget the new hardware and software and just run that?

Then why not just go away. I have not read a single thread yet in which your posts are not in some manner inflammatory, rude, or otherwise obnoxious and useless. Frankly, people like you cause more damage to a community than do good. Thankfully, you all come and go: in with a bang and out with a whimper.

Good price, indeed. I bought a used Mini, too, last week. So far so good. OS X is good, but takes some getting familiar with. I'm going to try out XCode in the next day or two as I'm wondering if it's as simple as the Apple website makes it out to be.
