Title: Amiga 2000 Keyboard
Post by: jjans on June 30, 2010, 06:04:26 AM
Hi,

I just recevied an Amiga 2000 today (less the keyboard). Will a PS2 PC keyboard work with these via a 5 pin adapter?

Just curious, dont want to fry anything...

No, you will fry something if you try.

All-righty then, thanks for that... (Glad I checked first - saw some threads via google claiming otherwise).

Guess I'm in the market for one then...

i dont think he would fry something, it just wont work.
iirc, pinouts are the same, +5V and GND are the same, but signals are different.
thats why he needs adapter, and aminet has them.

True, nothing will fry, but it won't type anything sensible either.

There has been a few A2000 keyboard on ebay recently (well on oz ebay atleast). You could also get a PC keyboard adapter called Lyra - I think Amiga kit sell them. I'd hold off and get an original though.
