Almost 3 years ago to date I resigned my job in desktop support at VW's Milton Keynes headquarters and started a degree in Speech and Language Therapy. I remember at the beginning of the course I wondered what I was doing, as it felt so unachievable. It's been a long 3 years, but yesterday I finally got my final results. To my amazement, I got a First. I've also got a job lined up working in mainstream schools.
Working in IT feels a long way away now :)

Very many congratulations!
Speaking from personal experience, making a career change is always a tough move. Sticking with the change is often even harder.
Well done! Your tenacity is admirable.
I wish you well with your future career.

Thank you! It hasn't been easy, and there have been a lot of times where I've seriously considered giving up. The hardest part was at the end of last year, just before my final exams, dissertation and final placement, when I was diagnosed with dyslexia and elements of dyspraxia. I really thought at that point I was incapable of even passing my degree, but the uni were brilliant and very supportive!

Thanks! And it *was* lit, just a slow burner :)

Congrats! You've taken 0.3 times the time it (as it looks now) takes me to finish my damned BA degree =).
I agree with Speel, cigars are not for chewing!

I only smoke once a year on holiday, so you can rest assured that cigar was lit and I was thoroughly enjoying it ;)

Pics of you blowing smoke rings or it didn't happen.

Yep, nicer to smoke and you don't waste half of it due to it burning away between puffs ;) And for the non-believers:

You shouldn't inhale! Roll the smoothness over your tongue. Taste it!
I smoked once, when I was 14, 5 cigars in an evening over my lungs. Lost my voice for days after that
