Title: Software that Teaches Piano
Post by: XDelusion on June 12, 2010, 06:29:33 AM
Is there such a thing on the Amiga? I have a few MIDI devices and would like to have the Miracle Piano experience without forking out the $150 for the crappy Miracle Piano.

I always wanted to learn how to play piano, and really think it would add a bit of much needed depth to some of my works.

Deluxe Music 1 has a good player piano on it. You can watch the key presses, which helps learn the song quicker.

There was one program I saw advertised on TV for Amiga, somebody else might remember what it was called.

Yes, if you mean Amiga software.

I bought the miracle midi keyboad & software for my Amiga 4000 in 1992. My daughter started with the basics and eventually went on to Grade 8 piano.

Edit: search for Miracle Piano Teaching System

That piano goes for about $150. What I'd like to know is if the software that you used with that, or if other software teaches piano via MIDI Keyboard on the Amiga as opposed to the overly expensive Miracle Piano.

...which will still run $150, most likely!

It's altogether possible you may be able to use a different MIDI keyboard with the Miracle software should you come across a copy of it, apparently it can be done with the PC: http://www.ehow.com/how_6159616_connect-keyboard-miracle-piano-software.html

MIDI is MIDI, after all, provided they didn't put some dongle in the hardware.

Hi,

Have a Miracle Piano but it is for a PC. Remember years ago I tried the Amiga's Miracle Piano on my A4000, my friend had one so I thought if I borrowed his software I would see if the PC Miracle Piano would work on the Amiga, the software said "Please hookup the keyboard" I did and still got the same message. We looked at the keyboards and both looked the same. We tried the PC keyboard on the Amiga and it worked but the PC would not work with the Amiga software. Our conclusion was that the PC would not work with the Amiga Software. ( could have been some sort of copy protection). Anyhow end of story didn't try again, all I know is that I have a Miracle keyboard still in box for a PC, don't know if I have the software.
