Title: Wanted: Amiga 4000D in USA
Post by: mbrantley on June 11, 2010, 02:31:20 AM
Anybody in the USA have a working 4000 to sell? Something's gone all wrong with mine, and with the amount of battery damage and corrosion on my board I may not want to attempt repairs.

I have all the nice addons I dersire, so a base model -- even an 030 one -- would be perfect for me.

No great rush on my part, I don't reckon. There's a new Sam440ep-flex in the house as well as a decked out 3000D and a 2000 full of goodies.

But I'd still like to get my 4000 setup working again nevertheless.

I'm sorry, I have no spare A4000D for sale.

But I have bit offtopic question:
Are you willing to sell your A4000D motherboard?
I'm interested to take it.

mbrantley: I have a working 4000D motherboard available if you did just want to swap out the boards.  A bit of green in the battery area from an old battery, but it doesn't look like anything got eaten.

Tone, yes I am interested in your spare motherboard. Need to get my kid off to summer daycamp this morning, but will PM when I get back.

Stach, maybe. Let me get my system working again, and then I'll see what spare parts I have.

Tried to send you a PM, but a.org reported your PM box is full.

Anyway... yes, I am interested in your working 4000D motherboard. How much do you want for it? I don't do PayPal, but I can overnight a USPS money order to you. My shipping address would be to 36693 in Mobile, Ala.

Thanks.

And how is a Commodore filing cabinet? I read in the book "On the Edge" how Jack Tramiel used the C= file cabinet division to make the metal cases for the early Pet computers. LOL!

Woops, sorry about that.  PM on the way.

The C= filing cabinets are really piling up here, I might have to turn down the next one that pops up on craigslist.  Obviously they're all pretty old and used by this point.
