Just received my new 4060DT, hoping to get a little help with it.
Following instructions, I installed the 040 and 060 libs before removing the original 040 board.
Installed the 4060DT and the machine just guru's endlessly. Guru happens as soon as hard drive is accessed.
This is using the a4k ide interface. Machine has picasso2, deneb, and C= amber card in zorro slots. HD and CDROM on ide interface. Machine works fine with original 040 accelerator board.
With the new accelerator, if I put a workbench disk in the floppy, the machine will boot to wb, and I can even see and open DH0: but interestingly, not DH1:
So it looks like the IDE is mostly working, although it wont boot with it and guru's when accessing the RDB?
If I remove the deneb, the machine still doesnt boot, but just sits at a black screen, never doing anything more.
I took a scsi drive from my a3k, and attached to the scsi interface on the 4060, and the drive does appear to boot, but crashes on bootup (drive does not have the 040/060 libs on it)
I'd really rather use the a4k's ide interface because i already have the machine setup like I like it and the scsi is going to require a pin adapter and two cables to be jammed into the case someplace.
Any ideas why the RDB would not be compatible? Assuming that is the problem of course.
It guru's the instant it queries the HD.

The 4060DT is a strange beast: the partitions must be formatted in FFS only to the accelerator recognize them (if you are using the built-in SCSI controller).

What Guru error number do you get? What version of Workbench is on the IDE Hard Disk? Also, what filesystem is DH0: and DH1: on the IDE Hard Disk formatted as? That said, I'm doubting it's the RDB that's causing the issue in this case.
If you are running any hacks/patches in your S:startup-sequence, try to disable them by booting with no startup sequence from the early startup menu and running a text editor like 'ed' on the file or booting from a WB floppy and doing the same. It would appear that it's hitting something at the top of your startup-sequence that's incompatible with the board. Then, use the process of elimination by slowly introducing each hack/patch back until you get the guru. It's good you have possibly eliminated the Deneb as a cause, though what is installed on its flash?
Also, try running a different 68060 library like the MMULib version to see if that fixes it if the above did not work. I'd also suggest using the latest GVP 68060 library as the one on the supplied floppy may not be the latest if I recall.
Also, try booting with jumper JR1 disabled (Burst mode) to see if this makes any difference. In my experimentation with memory on the A4060DT I've found certain memory SIMM combinations will POST fine but crash the machine while booting with this jumper enabled if not all the RAM is up to this mode. Software Hut supplied me with 128MB with the A4060DT I bought (and since sold), of which only 2 of the SIMMs would correctly function in Burst mode.
