Hi!
I wonder if anyone know if the CDTV are able to run Amiga 500 games?
-
With an external diskdrive, yes
but the CDTV is not 100% compatible
As well the CDTV does not have the memory expansion found on many A500's, wich some games desire
-
The external diskdrive is DF0: and can handle most of the hard-coded games
-
WTF ?
The CDTV did have 1MB chipmem standard, so that won't be the prob.
Probs ly in the extended 1.3-ROM, the CD-controller and suchlike.
And offcourse games that just can't handle more than 512K.
-
I have several games saying they require 1meg of mem, I think these need no extra chipmem but fastmem
-
Yes, work all games of A500 without any problem (I have a CDTV with diskdrive), and you can add fast memory, you can see at www.elbox.com. My CTV system is CDTV with rom 1.3/2.0, 68010 cpu, AmigaOS 3.1, 2Mb fast, Fat Agnus ECS, Super Denise ECS, keyboard, floppy, mouse, joypad
CDTV Rulezzzzzzz =)

Is it possible to connect a floppy disk drive to a Amiga CD32 and play games for A500,A600 and A1200?
-
Little tip - There is a jumper, on the motherboard, that disables the extra cd features. Using this method, you get all those 1 meg chip games to play:-)
If you're a DIY dude, you could extend this to a switch, and turn it on and off when you need it!
Good evening, folks! ;-)

Yes, but you need the original CD32 floppy, this floppy was connected to the expansion cd32 bus, or well, you need a expansion module, like SX-1 or SX32 with a external amiga diskdrive, not work all games/demos, CD32 have rom 3.1 and old games/software not run all, but relokick is perfect to work old software =)

?????????????????????

Re: ????????????????
In addition to the well known SX-1, SX32, and ProModule, there were also a few stand-alone disk drive-only units available for the CD32. Plugged straight into the expansion connector.

Thanks all for your help.
I have just one more question: What is the value for a CDTV in very good condison today?

Yes, I think you mean the CD32fWSI (http://www.cd32-allianz.de/cd32tuning/mystery/mystery.html) expansion. I took a shot (http://amiga.org/gallery/photo.php?lid=698) of the PCB with my crappy webcam. I'll take a better shot as soon as I get my hands on a digital camera :-D
