Title: Can't load necessary library files
Post by: LordSpunky on June 03, 2010, 10:16:05 PM
Dammit, either I'm really stupid or something is a miss.......

I'm trying to install KindWords3 [I have many files I've written years ago I'm trying to access]. After fixing the discs I have after three nights got it to install, but when I try and open Kindwords on the HDD it comes up with 'can't load necessary library files' check installation. Do I have to copy some files or is there something else I;ve missed?

Cheers Tris

Check SnoopDOS to see what it's failing to load. My guess is that a multi-assign (i.e., assign LIBS: Work:KindWords ADD) isn't working properly.

If you had to "fix the disks" then perhaps some of the files are corrupt or it never fully installed everything. If you originally purchased this software there is no shame in just getting a copy from a bit torrent and trying to install from that.

@Matt - Don't have SnoopDOS but will get it, @illy, I tried to find a torrent couldn't find anything for Kindwords3, maybe an ADF but it is a really Amiga wasn't sure about how to go about making it not....

.............

Just downloaded, installed and checked SnoopDOS, apparently a KWReg.library is missing? I check back through the 4 floppy discs and can't see that file anywhere, I did show all on them too
