Well? If you did, did you catch the crash error on the Mac in Chuck's flashback?
-
Just a guess, "Guru Meditation?" I have never seen the show, worth watching?
-
Dumbledore dies.
-
I'll be watching it tonight .. so no spoilers :-)
-
it turns out rosebud is a sled!

Ha ha !! I just posted over at Amigaworld.net about it. I include a screen shot of it and a link to a video. The guru is 1minute 16seconds in.
Before the guru when young Chuck is walking into the room, in the upper right hand corner partly covered by the lamp, is that an A1000 running workbench?
Glad to know I wasn't the only person to notice the Guru!!

Yeah, it's pretty funny and super nerdy. This was the end of Season 3.

The joys of Tivo let me slowly go through the scene...I was just about to post when I saw this thread. There are a lot of old computers shown, including the Amiga. There was an Amiga 1000 running a 1.x workbench and on another monitor a boing ball. Later in the scene, after the Mac shows a "bomb" they pan up to a guru meditation.
The wife wasn't happy that I delayed the end of the show! Sure wasn't expecting all the old hardware!
-
And just after Dumbledore realizes that Rosebud is a sled, he goes into cardiac arrest. Irony at it's best, and an ending that I never saw coming!!!
-
I missed the guru, but I did see the boing ball screen. Now I'll have to go back and check it on OnDemand. ;-) Ever since the "intersect 2.0", this show has become a lot like "Jake 2.0" on the SciFi channel.

Good catches. Here's a pic of when he walks in. Boing Ball, Guru (on a flat panel?), and then an A1000 in the top right?

LOL... Caught the GURU Meditation but didn't notice the Boing Ball or the A1000. I was too busy laughing about the Mac 128k being the original Intersect.

Thanks for the grab Heretic! You know, the more I look at those patterns, and given there are at least 3 Amiga screens you can identify, I'm thinking the whole thing was a Toaster project and the Mac was just for the public to identify with...
I agree, this show has improved. I watched during the first season and didn't like it. Came back this season and got hooked. Now I've got to check out Jake 2.0 it seems! Thanks for the tip JimS!

Aha I saw the boing ball whilst watching but not the A1000 or the Guru Meditation. Blimey you people must have watched it in HD!
Anyway if you skip back to 30:14 out of 42:22 when he opens the door to the room you will see two 10" black CRT monitors or old old Sony Trinitron TVs on the metal racks. One shows the boing ball the other shows a different Wb 1.x screen.
Does the Mac show a bomb like that? If it doesn't then that's a link to the Atari ST too.
Someone who knows that the mid 80s had bugger all to do with 8086PCs when it came to cool machines obviously is involved with that show :)

Guilty...HD makes it much easier to see what's in the background and, I'm sure, gives fits to the folks who dress the sets.
The old Mac bomb looks real to me. Most likely done with Hypercard as a simple animation.
Most of Hollywood did something on the Amiga if they had special effects after the Toaster arrived....even before that actually. I remember a number of late '80s shows that used Amigas. Scott Backula, who plays Chuck's dad, had a show called Quantum Leap which had some Amiga graphics occassionally.
There's likely a bunch of old computers in some warehouse in LA waiting for rental...

No prob... you'll have to look for it though... it's canceled, but they sometimes run a block of episodes in the daytime. The plot was this... "Jake" was a nebbish tech support guy at the CIA. The bad guys attack while he's in a secret lab reinstalling windoze or something. Gunplay ensues, beakers shattered & Jake is infested with nanites that do the superhero bit.... They even had the bit about the software messing with his sanity...

I know. A B&W intersect? I guess it's text mode only.
-
The Mac is just acting as the dumb terminal though, like the old WYSE terminals in mainframe days ;)
I like Chuck, although season 3 has probably been the weakest, I think 2 was my favourite.
-
I noticed the blinking Guru meditation on top left... but missed the bong ball! Would be nice to know who was behind this.. three Amiga-related things in half a minute can't be coincidence :)

My wife and I Love Chuck... it's an awesome show, the finale was Great!!! I didn't realize there was a Amiga 1000 there either... I was more into the part where Morgan & Devin were trying to figure out how to rescue the bunch and sent that rocket flying... AWESOME!!!
