Hello friends,
today we checked the latest AROS-Nightly on an AresOne to check Nouveau 2D . Well it works!!! Wohooo! And how it works...
Today i uploaded a initial website for Aros Broadway (a new AROS distribution)
It is still WIP, but you can look at the showroom (embedded youtube videos) to see a video of the latest Version. This version will be seeded tomorrow to all testers. Also you will find a video of AMClight (Amiga Media Center, comes for AOS,MOS and AROS)
Just to resume:
-Broadway is slim (350MB including all apps)
-is free
-and comes for x86(first),ppc(work starts in June) and x64(also from june)

Best Regards,
Pascal Papara

Great work Pascal.

PPC version will be able to run on a G4 Mac?
Only hosted on Linux.
-
Does this support radeon HD5670? What chipsets and cpus are supported?
-
Hello,
PPC means: SAM (native), will try Efika too (native)
Mac could only be supported through Linux (AROS hosted - this is not my piece of cake) I have some G3 and G4 Ibooks - will try to make an hosted Image as soon the version for SAM is ready. I will talk on the upcoming Event in Germany to A-EON, maybe we find a solution to bring this(or AROS in general) to the X1000 too.
Broadway supports all what a nightly supports. I have no time and ressources to try this, but i'm open for hints if it does. It's all comunity driven, feel free to participate ; )
The ATI HD series is not supported by the Nouveau 2D driver (yet) but you can use the VESA modes. The next Revision of the AresOne will use an onboard HD4xxx, and as i now there will a dedicated driver follow.
