Why not add a list of what's actually on those disks? As it is, it's a pretty useless collection.

Its kind of fun to just get the disks and see whats on them...
I would however, like to see one big cd or dvd iso or something, its a pita to download all those disks seperately...

I snagged the whole Protracker directory at modland, which I'm sure will keep me occupied for the rest of my life.

I guess your right... When I get in tonight I'll delete from the website. Sorry to inconvenience you. I mean, seriously, what was I thinking spending hours creating images of a thousand disks and then not going the extra mile of listing what was on each disk.
Sadly PD disks don't often come with any information on the label, but I guess you knew that. How long do you thing it takes to make an image of one floppy disk. Take that figure and times that by a thousand. Then work out how long it would take to open each and every disk and not only collate the information but also open drawers to check out the read me files. I would suggest that if I did nothing else with my life it would take two weeks of solid time. Sadly I work and I enjoy my life and service the website as best I can.
In the history of Fred Fish he created a thousand disks. I don't have that time.

I think you misunderstood Britelites (badly worded) comment. He wasnt saying your archive is useless as in 100% useless, he just meant its useless in a sense that you cant find what you are looking for.

I understood every word, as I do yours also. The better question is whether a rource of 1000 Amiga PD Demo disks un-referenced is better than no resource of PD Demo disks. For anyone who understands the listings of PD Disks it was always a crap shoot... But hey. I have never been one to do anything that is not appreciated. I do apologise for the previous post and would ask folk not to bother linking to the page cus I have removed the disks until maybe sometime I get a spare month of my life to add a concise listing....
I'll go now and return to my own private world, because god forbid I would ever want to share it with anyone for fear of inconveniencing any of the 'something for nothing' brigade.

http://ftp://ftp.modland.com/get_it_all_on_dvd.txt 10 Gb, and that's just Protracker mods, while hundreds of other formats probably amount to something much more.

So er..I'd like access to those 1000 disks...

Yes, please be a dramaqueen about it. And if you decide to remove them from your page I can always use this (http://ftp://ftp.amigascne.org/pub/amiga/Groups/) for downloading demos, where I can actually see what I'm downloading ;)
EDIT: And to be a bit more constructive, I've done a fair share of diskdumping myself and I always try to maintain at least some kind of list of what's actually on those disks, as I usually tend to use the images too. If you don't want to spend extra time while copying the disks then just quickly browse through the previously dumped diskimage while copying the next one, so no extra time is wasted.

Why on earth would you read through the read me files? If they're demo disks just have a brief look to see which demo is on the disk and write that down (or rename the imagefile), shouldn't take more than 20-30 seconds per diskimage.

WOW!
You Kittens having fun?
