Bootable for what? UAE?

As far as I am aware, you can't create a partition on your host and have it mount in UAE for formatting etc.
However, you can easily create either a hard file (has the advantage of being easy to backup etc), use a directory on the host OS as a fake partition within UAE or finally, use a dedicated hard disk from an amiga.

no i want to create a boot partition for whatever its running on linux or i'm looking at aros also wondering what the amikit actually does.
I just haven't gotten in there an edited files startup files or anyof that in a long time so mounting hard drives and things like that with aros or icaros will take some brushing up.
can my cloanto cd be copied and made into a bootable hard disk partion and then how would I access all the other drives on my pc or are they best left alone.

the only thing that can do what you ask is Amithlon.

Actually you can, at least with UAE on *ix, and I think with WinUAE too. I remember I used the same partition for UAE and Amithlon back when I had that installed, using the partition as a disk for AmigaOS. I can't remember if I also used it with WinUAE. On *ix it is just a matter of pointing configuring UAE to use /dev/whatever instead of some file, and make sure the user has rights to to the device node.

Yes, it can be done. You need two partitions, one tiny one to hold the Linux kernel, ramfilesystem and grub (the bootloader), and one partition to act as disk for UAE. I have not looked so much at amigaforever to tell you exactly what to do, but it can be done. All in all though, I dont see the point, as it gives you little or no advantage over WinUAE, I would even say it gives you less, since you will not have any way to configure network etc.

has anyone worked on drivers for atheros wireless g,b, or N?
is there something I can do with grub to get to xp pro? (yes it sounds like i'm a traitor)

Google is your friend. I don't know where /boot/grub/menu.let is in Icaros, but that's the file to edit.
