Title: Controlling a pc from the amiga.
Post by: Nostalgic_Amigan on May 15, 2010, 12:21:09 PM
I remember back in the day I had my PC and amiga linked, probably via a serial cable, and was able to use the Amiga as an input device. I seem to remember running a piece of software on the Amiga and using it as a virtual keyboard. I may be way off base, it was a long time ago. It was probably a feature of the Siamese System.

Anyway my question is, Is anyone doing this, and is it possible to share say the joystick and mouse to?

Yes, you can do this within EasyNet (http://
http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=586) software.  Here is the picture of it in action:

Yes, I am.
I remote control the XP-PC underneath my desk via a registered version of RDesktop (http://amifind.platon42.de/cgi-bin/amifind?query=rdesktop&dir=-1&mode=and) from my A4000PPC with OS 3.9.

Currently I'm a little bit confused, as Aminet just seems to have versions for OS4 - appearently no longer a version for OS 3.x.

I just mailed Darren Eveland and asked him if the RDesktop version for OS 3.x is no longer available.

Hmm at least the RDesktop website has 1.6 demo version for 68k.

Those were the days, loads of people bought my Siamese System and it was cool even if I do say so myself. Shame PCI Amiga project got killed off by Gateway but there you go.

You know you can also use it via Ethernet which is amazing and just as good a putting a graphics card in your Amiga.
