Hello, I think I have registered before but just lurked. I started using Commodore with the VIC 20, then a 64, Got an A500 in 1988 or os, a 1200 sometime later. Used them all the time up until around 2002 then stored it all away. Recently gave away all my magazines and most of my disks to a guy near miami, but I kept my A1200 and my zip drives with all of my main stuff stored on the drives as .dms files. I was able to get a a4000 with toaster/flying setup from the district office for using at my school with our news school. Learning to use that and using my A1200 again.
Boots up and runs perfectly except my floppy drive is bad.
Anyway, it's cool to be using my amiga again.

Welcome back to the world of Amiga :)
Some times when you try an Amiga with some old floppy disks after years of not using them, you may find that the drive seems to not work properly anymore. Most of the time it's just that your old floppy disks have gone bad, they may have mould/fungus growing on them, and your floppy drive heads may need cleaning. I would recommend a floppy drive cleaning kit, they come with a diskette that has a pad inside them which you drop some cleaning fluid onto, then you just run the disk through the drive a few times and try formatting a brand new floppy disk in it. I hope the problem is as simple as that, you'd be surprised how often it's the case.

There is also Disc Recovery software that I used to use (Yes the Amiga floppy drive is that awesome!), though I can't for the life of me recall what the name of any of the software packs were.
