Title: Bitmap fonts
Post by: Animagic on November 22, 2003, 01:57:21 PM
Hello there.

I want to edit some bitmap fonts to Greek characters, in order to translate a game into Greek.

I have the images of fonts ready, but I don't have a programm to support bitmap fonts. All these years I used Typesmith for font editing/conversion, but typesmith cannot load Bitmap fonts, only outline fonts.

Any suggestions?  :-?

Wasn't there a bitmap font editor on the Extras disk with Workbench 1.3? Could that be of any use?

Yes there is. FED (Amiga font editor). Already used it, works fine with fonts up to 32x32 pixels size.

But the fonts I want to convert are 40x32 size :-(

Ok, done the job, for others who need help on this:

Amiga Font Editor (can be found on extras disk of WB 1.3) - Perfect for fonts up to 32x32 pixels.

ColorType - Perfect for larger fonts, some problems with kerning though...

Typeface - Not so nice GUI, but perfect for fixing kerning problems made with ColorType :-P

Thanx again for your help that_punk_guy. :-)
