Title: ExoticRip33.lha and Music Line Editor
Post by: XDelusion on May 05, 2010, 06:35:01 AM
First off, does anyone have a copy of Exotic Rip that does not come in the form of a corrupted Archive? Like in a form that can be used?

http://aminet.net/search?query=ExoticRip33.lha

Secondly, I'd heard of  "Music Line Editor", where do I download or buy this?

Thankx!

The archive on Aminet is fine, download it again. Aminet forwards to random mirrors, perhaps you catched a mirror which has it corrupted.

Musicline is here: http://aminet.net/package/mus/edit/mline115
Don't know if it's still shareware.

Thank you for the Music Line Ed link!

As for Exotic Rip, I have taken that into consideration, but keep getting...

...well bad links apparently.

If I use the link in your post, I can download the archive without problems and it is not corrupted:

Honestly, I have downloaded it like 20 times, and I've even tried another browser...

...will try from another computer. This is freaking weird, not to mention irritating.

:) This whole time the archive was fine, it was WinRAR that thought it was corrupt. LHA on the Amiga has not problems with it what so ever.

@ XDelusion,

Switch to 7-Zip. It's nice to *ALL* archives and makes them impressively smaller than their counterparts. =)

I have 7zip installed, but rarely use it...

...I've just grown used to WinRAR over the years and tend to just load 7Zip only as needed. Great software though! And yes, for sure, if it is more compatible with LHA files, then I'll be using it for them at least from now on.

*Never* use a Windows (or Linux) tool to unpack an Amiga archive. Windows (or Linux) file system cannot store all file attributes of AmigaOS. *Always* transfer the archive to the Amiga and unpack it there.

^ this.

Just use lha -x (or unarc or voodoo-x if you prefer a GUI) for lha files.
