Greetings,
At first, I thought is this real, but according Article (http://www.pcworld.com/article/191896/commodore_64_awakes_from_slumber_with_makeover.html), it will be release in June!
The Carrier Board accepts a standard 2.5" HDD, the Computer on a Chip PCB, a standard SIM card, 2 internal USB ports, and contains all the external connections for video, audio, USB, serial, 5 volt DC power plug and 2 SD card slots.
More info -> http://www.commodoreusa.net/amigo.html
The Commodore C64 version http://www.commodoreusa.net/systems.html
Would I get one? Maybe, but the Amigo looks sexier and comes in black! I might get one! and probably run AROS on it. :P
Regards,

We are waiting for an AMIGAI computer from COMMODORE USA! :)
-
AmigO...? Oh nooo they diiidn't!
-
*coughs* is this the same computer that was announced on april fool's day by any chance? =P

THe guy doesn't have permission to use the Commodore name or logo, but it hasn't stopped him. He's reselling other people's laptop without a screen because they can't sell them because laptops without a screen are pointless in 2010. It's supposed to be a lounge room computer but it's a fail at that because unlike a conventional desktop, this one has wires running across your lounge room floor...

Lemme say i do not feel preciselly ENTHUSIASTIC about this kind of
laptop-without screen-cheap laptop performance-but has lot-a-wires project.
A rebadged low-end PeeCee computer, renamed for commercial purposes
to have the name of the famous company... Of course without consentment,
AND sold at hi-tech price... And NOT in any way related to any Commodore
project or design.
I would buy an X-1000 or a MacMini a zillion times before EVEN ask to myself
to buy a cheap-PC in disguise sold at unreasonably high price.
-
oh look, someone bought a cargo container of zero footprint PCs.
if I wanted a shitty computer to run ubuntu on I'd take one off the side of the road ('round these parts you can literally find sub 500mhz machines tossed out with the garbage)
-
What I don't get is how this guy is getting away with using the Commodore name and logo. Guess it says a lot about the current holders of the brand (i.e. probably dead or don't care..) Shame how both the Amiga and Commodore brands have been misused over the years....
-
The C= (not Amiga) trademark stuff is one of those things like H.P. Lovecraft's works, just about. Rather than anyone having to prove they do have the C= IP (which is the name and the logo, really), all they have to do is say "Prove I don't."
The trail of ownership is so obscured I doubt a team of well paid lawyers could pull that one off...

What's Lovecraft got to do with it?!? :) ha ha!
Commodore USA, the Lovecraftian Origins that no man dare repeat lest the sleepers might here their name and awaken.
Of course, if Commodore could come up with a way to remove my brain and send it up into space in a strange contraption, I might get interested.

Of course, if Commodore could come up with a way to remove my brain and send it up into space in a strange contraption, I might double my faith.
I had interest in this, but kind of lost it after reading some of the posts on here about this "company".

This have been discussed a few times before, for me this is just overpriced x86 crap :/
-
What a piece of junk. Composite and VGA out? To plug into a TV? About a decade out if date.

Notice on 4th picture http://www.commodoreusa.net/amigo.html...this is an Italian keyboard layout ('Invio', 'Pausa', 'Fine'). If it's for the Us market, why an italian keyboard?.....could be a project made by an italian company and then rebranded as 'Commodore'....

Yep, nothing to see here, somebody just trying to dump a warehouse full of leftover unsellable junk using a pirated name. Now with DIY stick on Chinese labels!
