Curious, is anyone using this:
Aminet - util/libs/IconLib_46.4.lha
http://aminet.net/package/util/libs/IconLib_46.4
Says it works with AfA_OS 4.7, PowerIcons, and includes functionality of IconBeFast, amongst other features. Is anyone using this on their system, and to what effect?
-
I have been using it since early alpha/betas. PeterK is a great hacker :)
This iconlib is romable and works noticeably faster than the original AmigaOS 3.9 one.
-
Yep, I'm using it too. Works great. It's faster, smaller and ROMable. Peter K knows what he is doing. I've disassembled the library and it is very clean and tight.
-
I stopped using the previous version beacuse it didn't work with AFA_OS. This new version works fine with AFA_OS 4.7.

@Crumb
Excellent! So far, it has not failed on me.

great! and although this is a little offtopic... what about Cosmos graphic.library replacement?

@Crumb
Exactly the same comments apply.

I think it's more of irrelevant than excellent. :D Games and apps of this kind doesn't make use of, or depend on the icon.library.
Edit: Well... Some of these apps does, i suppose, when they allow you to save your data files with an icon assigned to them or when they create an AppIcon on the WB screen.

That is another interesting one I will have to look at as well. Thanks for bringing it up.
I am just trying to bring my system a little more performance and prettiness at the same time. PowerIcons brought me PNG icons and other prettiness, along with a little performance, IconBeFast and FBlit added to the performance. Now I have gone to AfA OS and want to boost more performance. I am getting power hungry... may have to save up to get my Blizzard PPC fixed :)
