Hi,
Please forgive me if this is mentioned/discussed previously, but I haven't googled or searched!
Is it possible to use a USB MIDI interface via the Amiga Deneb USB card?
I have a MOTU USB interface, which I use on my PC, and since my A4000D will soon have a working Deneb (currently off for repairs!) I'm hoping I can use the same MIDI interface.
Is there a USB-compatible MIDI device, or is there some way to 'route' the MIDI data to the Deneb USB port?
Cheers,
Mike.

There's a CAMD driver for Poseidon, so as long as your MIDI device is standards-compliant, you're all set.
-
What software is there out there that will take advantage of a MIDI USB interface? I know OctaMED won't so what is there?

Well, in theory OctaMED should work with CAMD.device.

Eh? IIRC the Amiga already has a midi interface built-in. It's on some of the pins of the serial ports which were defined in RS232 to be reserved/not connected.
Amiga Serial port pinout (http://www.hardwarebook.info/Serial_%28Amiga%29)
(audio in/out are the ones needed).
It shouldn't be too hard to solder a MIDI connector yourself (or let someone do it for you).

humhum, yes, but still, building an Amiga-MIDI port is very easy considering this scheme (http://www.electronicsteacher.com/circuits-and-diagrams/music-related-schematics/am_midi.gif)

True, but you can buy them second hand for pittance anyway.

I would like to test:
- B&P + MIDIMAN USB;
- STARTREKKER + MIDIMAN USB
...I must now find a little free time to test everything.

Uh, back to OSS USB and MIDI...
OSS can be extended by the NSM system:
http://heim.ifi.uio.no/~ksvalast/nsm/
And it uses the camd.library etc., is this any help? A bridge?

IF you can find one.
And btw. a 'traditional' MIDI connection is better compatible than an USB one anyway.

I have several standard Amiga midi interfaces. Seem quite common for me. I know several other people with 2 or more as well.
Almost like C1530 tape drives for the C64!
