Hi All
Having some probs with IDE CDRom and IDE-Fix 97
Currently I have a 4gb SamDisk Ultra Compact Flash.
Installed on a IDE ATA CF Adapter for Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290416959152&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT)
A4000 Buffered ide interface for http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...roducts_id=599 (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=42&products_id=599)
I have set-up the CF with WinUae and Partition in to x2GB and running with OS3.5 and boot fine.
Now Add the Buffered ide interface to the A4000.
I have add the IDE CDrom to port1 ( Primary Slave ) and the 4Gb CF to port0 ( Primary Master ) . The CF boot up fine.
Now install IDE-Fix 97 to the CF card to set-up the CDRom, IDEfix finded the CDrom fine and install the driver, and now it will not boot-up the Amiga?
Uninstall IDEfix from CF in WinUAE and put it back in to the Amiga 4000 and it boot-up fine.
Anyone experienced this problems.
Thank All

Did you try the CF card and CDROM without the 4 way adaptor? (that's the way mine is hooked up).

The original version of idefix97 does not work with CF cards that are set to removeable (for example, sandisk CF-cards are set to removeable).
It only works with CF-cards that are set as fixed disk.
Doobrey wrote a patch for it to work with CF-cards that are set to removeable.
You can find the patch here : http://www.doobreynet.co.uk/amiga.html

Thank you!!!!
I have had this problem for 1 year and have not been able to find a fix for it. Hopefully it works, I'll try it at home tonight.

@stefcep2 & iowtheme
NP, but the credits all go to Doobrey. I'm just the messenger.
@stefcep2
Doobrey wrote the patches in september 2009.
The 4-way IDE adapters that use idefix97 as the software driver are not the only ones that have this problem.
The drivers for the buddha and xsurf-cards also suffer from this, and Doobrey also wrote some patches for that cards.
The original thread at EAB where all this was discussed can be found here: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=47196&highlight=idefix
