Hi there...
My questions is, when i download a file from PC and transfer it over to my amiga weather its a CD or floppy, when i load the device and see the files on either the floppy or cd the file names seem to have wierd symbols and therefore i can not run it
for example.. ive downloaded the latest version of WHDLoad and it doesnt seem to extract on my amiga as i only get 3 files in the folder C on my ram disk: Patcher, DrawDIC and DIC or something like that.. anyway i thought i would extract the files from my windows PC then burn the files to CD so that i can run the lastest version of WHDLoad from the burnt CD but no luck as the file names are not the same....
can someone please help me solve this problem
thanks

Do you have the Fat95 filesystem installed? http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/fat95
It's always best to extract the files on the Amiga rather than the PC because the PC won't preserve executable tags and other Amiga-specific metadata. WHDLoad is a very large archive, do you have enough memory to extract it to the Ram Disk?

If you have the EasyADF (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=440) program, you can extract the compressed archives on the A1200 with a few clicks. The EasyADF Transfer Kit (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=440) is ideal for taking the archives across from a PC to an Amiga 1200 or 600.
