Title: Startup Screen
Post by: Retrofan on April 10, 2010, 02:55:09 PM
Hello:
Just a simple question: don't know exactly what I did, but now I don't have any picture when the A1200 starts.
I wonder how I can put it again or even change it.
It started with some sounds too, whow can I put or change them?
I've got installed OS 3.9

As in, no display whatsoever? You probably picked a screenmode your monitor can't handle. Boot with no startup-sequence and rename/delete envarc:sys/screenmode.prefs.

Hi:
No, I see the normal Workbench Sys 4 Aga screen (that's what I was changing because I had lost it), what I don't have is the startup screen with the photo of the Amiga 1200 while the Workbench starts.
I believe I changed the preferences. Can you tell me which is the (usual) picture name at WB Pattern Preferences, selecting Screen?
Because I believe it must be that, musn't it?

So, you've basically lost your backdrop image?

Just go through them until you find the one you want, or pick a pattern as a backdrop.

He means a bootime backdrop...not workbench one.

Yes, that's right, and I'm not gonna change one by one and reset the Amiga each time... they are too many...

Open the directory that these images reside in, and with the power of multiview, go through them all until you find the correct one.

Then select that image.

Thank you very much. I didn't know it was for that purpose. I will try it.
But, what about the music? I don't have no picture or sound.

It must be another thing. At preferences I don't find the picture of the amiga of the startup screen. It must be in another place, and it's not the picture alone, it must play the short music too...

Please note that AmigaSys has nothing to do with OS 3.9 or AmigaOS in general. AmigaSys is a collection of Amiga programs put together by some Amiga fans. There is no relation to AmigaOS.

If you need support for AmigaSys you should go to its homepage http://www.amigasys.com and click on Forum. I doubt that anybody here can give you competent help.

Thanks Mortadelo you're right. That screen is part of Amiga Sis 4 aga.
I will search there.
