Hey people,
I eventually found a trapdoor ram expansion, 4 meg just now, just thats good for the WHDLoad games, right? :) anyway i read info on this expansion and it says the PCMCIA will not work if i have 8megs on it, so obviously more RAM the better, but I want to get onto the internet with it, so could is there any network cards for sale for the 1200 instead of the wireless pcmcia option?
thanks Justin

you can go the clockport->subway USB->USB Ethernet route ...
but it will not be significantly cheaper than buying a PCMCIA friendly proper accelerator board I guess ...
-
how would running a bog standard 1200 with 4mb FastRAM do on basic browsing on the internet with the pcmcia wireless adapter? painfully slow or is it actually not too bad?

forget about browsing. You can surf aminet with images off and download packages though.

An 030@50mhz or 040@25mhz is minimum for browsing.

ok mate! ill have to save up and invest in a accelerator at some point :P

Agreed, I browsed with a 060 in my a4000/RTG fluently but when I had to put my original 030/25 in it was pretty painful.

Not sure it's a good idea to invest in a turboboard just for browsing. Considering the available Amiga browsers' features (or lack of...) the experience will be subpar no matter how much money you put in your HW...

A RTG card is at least as important in browsing. My A500T with 060 and PicassoIV was years my main machine. In '97 - '00 it was good enough.
