Title: IDE/ATA Multi-card readers on an A4000D?
Post by: mingle on April 08, 2010, 12:19:13 AM
Hi Guys,

Apologies if this has been covered previously, but are there any particular brands/models of IDE/ATA multi-card (CF, SD, etc) readers that work better on an A4000 than others?

Actually, do they work at all? Are there devices-drivers available?

Cheers,

Mike.

Back in the day i used to use the scsi pcmcia card readers on my cyberstorm ppc  scsi chain. then a pcmcia->mem card adapter.. worked quite well, only side effect was you had to run a mountlist for the particular size card etc, which wasn't a problem if you used the same card mostly. the archive i used was scsipcmcia.lha or some such off aminet. I don't know of anyone who used the ide version of card readers on amiga.Your best bet may be to get a subway, highway, deneb usb card that works in your particular model amiga and a usb reader will support most all.
