Title: music in games.

Are most Amiga games actually using .MOD files, or do they usually contain software-house specific player routines??

It depends. There are games which use ProTracker routines but many of them use some derivatives of it as well as some custom formats. I don't know what are the proportions but I'd say it is 50% ProTracker, 50% its derivatives and custom formats.
