Hello my name is Brian, I live in a small town in Virginia, im a big computer geek, have been since I was able to type hah :)
Lets see where to start... My 1st contact experiance with an Amiga compuer was when I was around 13 I think it was, its been many moons ago hah My dad had a friend named Dale, who was in college at the time at Virginia Tech, and and at this time Tech required all the computer related majors to own and use an AMIGA computer. Dale owned a Amiga 2000, and at this time my computer was a commosore 64 and dad had a IBM PC with EGA 16 colors wooo hoooo hah, Dale on break brought his Amiga over and stayed a few days with us, I remember when he 1st ran a game on it how mine and dad's jaws both hit the floor in awe at the graphics and sounds, and ever since ive wanted an Amiga but couldn't really afford one due to there price. I could have got an Amiga later but by then i had already became a PC 386 owner I think it was. I still felt the Amiga had much better sound and games for the most part. :)
Fast Forward to now, I recently finally got an Amiga 2500HD off e-bay with a bunch of games with there manuals for $200 shipped :), not a bad deal I don't guess?? Some of the games were, Pirates!, Civilization, I also snagged a copy of Falcon CIB off ebay for cheap, I can't wait to play that one cause I had it for the PC and played it alot but the Amiga version blew away the PC version.
I know the 1st thing I need to do is look to see remove its battery if still there and clean up any corrosion if its leaked.
I also went ahead and ordered an Indivision ESC Scan doubler / Flicker Fixer for it, im assuming it will work ok since an Amiga 2500 is nothing but an Amiga 2000 with a CPU accelerator card already installed?? Ive got a spare 17 inch LCD monitor that im gonna use with Indivision, I also plan on getting a Buddha IDE card for it, my plan for that is to hook up a CD-ROM to it so I can transfer ADF's and the utilities to write those to real disks, can you brun CD's if you had an IDE burnner? Im guessing you could but im not sure, maybe not due to the speed of the CPU.

Hey CommodoreMan, First of all, welcome!
As for ADF's, and CD burners.... OK, first of all, I speak from my experience only, your mileage may vary, some assembly required, etc. , ad nauseum.....
I use 'Image2Disk' , for .adf's (find it on Aminet) As for CD burners, I have an LG CD burner in my A1200T, works quite well... I've found that it's difficult to find the correct combination of CDR drive and software. At least I've had trouble finding a comp. CDR drive for my 2 A4000's. Others on this fine forum can give you more info :)

Welcome To Amiga.org, it is a very active site with very fast replys, I to was blown away by the amigas, and could not afford one. I to just went to IBM/windows and make my living with these tools, but my heart belongs to the Amiga. So I went to e bay and have a 2500 and 2 A2000's with GVP040 card in one alot of time looking for things to do with them, so I settled on toaster stuff. I would love to learn how to get files from the internet amd make real disk, if you get a thread started on this subject I would love to learn how. PS waht part of VA, I live in MD, any body want to start a east coast retro group to meet in the middle to show each other stuff like this?

Are you a rush fan by any chance?

Hello C=man
Burning CD's is somewhat tricky. I recently picked up an old surplus SCSI CD burner for my A3000, which worked using the program makeCD so you shouldn't have much of a problem with your A2000.
http://www.estamos.de/makecd/
There's a tutorial on how to use it in that section here on the site.

Welcome.
The A2000 in any form is an excellent machine. I still use one with an '040 accelerator. Writing CDs is do-able on an Amiga - though not as easy as with windows. I use MakeCD. It worked on my old A1200 and on this A2000.
