Title: Source suggestions
Post by: mgerics on March 31, 2010, 12:29:51 PM
Hello all.
Need to update our systems here at a small plant.
Have a slew of old pcs (W98) connecting to NT4 domain.
Plans are to upgrade the server to win2xxx.
(Too much custom programming to switch to linux)

However, the W98 clients won't work correctly AFAIK.
(Please correct me if I'm wrong!)

That said, I'm looking for a source for inexpensive XP installed desktops, approximately 6 to 10.
Require 2 standard serial ports...or a source for inexpensive serial cards.
Refurbs are acceptable.

Anyone have any ideas on this ?

Thanks.

Get a bunch of EeeBoxs and a couple of USB>Serial adaptors for each.

I would really start considering making your code more portable however, as technology is a constantly moving thing.

Good luck.
