Title: WHDLOAD issues

I am having problems with the WHDLOAD where it tries to load the kickstart images saying they're invalid.
 
I have copied the Amiga Forever roms I have and the rom.key into the Devs:kickstarts drawer
 
Do I need to rename these?
 
Also I have copied the skick.lha *.rtb files into the same draw devs:kickstarts
 
and  I am still having no luck! :angry:
 
Any help would be greatly appreciated as always

I  don't think the Amiga Forever ROMs will work.  You need a real Kickstart 1.3 ROM.  Send me a PM and I will hook you up.

Yeah the Amiga Forever roms are copy protected somehow.

Just a simple encryption, but it's not like anything is stopping you from running transrom from inside the emulation to produce decrypted versions of the ROM images.

Hi,
 
I am still having issues after receiving some files.  I am running WHDload version 16.9. Error during resload_loadkick.  Invalid kickstart image 'devs:kickstarts/kicks34005.a500.
 
I have put the image in there along with the rtb file, pat file, etc.  
 
Grrrr.  Does anyone here mind zipping up their devs:\kickstart drawer please pm me.

Does it make any difference if I unpack the files in Windows using winrar or should I be unpacking the files on the Amiga, does it make a difference?
 
I've tried two different zipped up packs of directories and none of them work, still the same issue as before.  
 
Very frustrating at the moment, but I've got plenty of patience *I think* :-)

You should always unpack them on the Amiga due to the way Windows handles long filenames.

Okay the Amiga 500 kickstart appears to be working fine so I've stopped that error but the Amiga 1200 and 4000 kickstarts are still not working.
 
Very strange, I even used grabkick on the WINUAE for the Amiga Forever roms and still no go.
 
Anyone got any ideas?

Hmm I think part of the problem is I am getting some check sum errors on the compact flash card while running it under WINUAE.
 
I am running Disksalv at the moment and reduced the maxtransfer rate and I'll see how I go.

** I do have legitimate roms from the Amiga Forever 2009 CD (I purchased it) and I do appreciate everyone's help with this issue but I am beginning to think it could be checksum errors that are causing the issues and not the kickstart files themselves.  I'll get there one day!

I was still laughing when I read this.  My opinion is if you already have the hardware and want to use the roms you go for it.  That's why they were made.  For people to use.

Well finally sorted, it was the check sum errors causing the issue and it just so happened a rom file was in a checksum spot error though it wasn't stating the check sum error.
 
Thanks to all those that took the time to help out!  This is what makes Amiga still special, the Amiga community spirit of helping each other out!
