My A2000 is not very stable.
Sometimes it refuses to boot and sometimes even a slight movement will make it crash.
I have checked to see that the socketed chips are pressed in properly which they are.
I tried replacing the OCS AGNUS with one from an A500+ (1Mb ECS) and the A2000 would not even boot. Not even the grey screen.
The A2000 has 512k chip ram and 2mb fast ram and is currently being powered using a PC AT power supply.

What revision CPU board is it? The 1mb Agnus not working tells me you have a really early revision where there'd be no jumper. Instead, you have to cut a trace on the mobo. I don't know which one off hand, but trying searching the net 'til you find it...
As far as the computer being flaky when you move it - well, that's kind of obvious... you've got a short or bad connection somewhere. Triple check that power supply mod and make sure there are no solder splashes or screws laying near circuitry.

Have you tried actually removing the chips completely and then pressing them back in? Also try pulling outall the cards and see what happens.
If the problem is still present, i'd suggest cleaning what you can and checking out the battery area and caps.

First: the Fatter Agnus from A500+ is totally incompatible with any A2000 board but the 8.x. If your A2000 have an OCS Agnus, then it cannot take a 8375 Agnus.
For the crashes, most of the time the problem is the old and tired power supply. Replace it with an AT or ATX unit. Remember the ATX units does not have -5V and can cause problems with video and serial cards.

I suggest trying the power supply also. A a2500 I had worked funky with one PSU that was in it, but the nice beefy BIGFOOT fixed the issue
