Well, this is not about ebay, but i'll post here anyway.
I have "some" Amigas and equipment laying around... I'm planning on buying a car, and need the money.
See here for image:
http://www.showoffmedia.no/amigafjell.jpg
I don't have resources or money to pack & send this, so it has to be picked up in Trondheim, Norway.
I have no idea about price, but the price may not be as high as you think? send me an offer on bplexman@c2i.net and i'll see. Remember; it has to be paid and picked up in Trondheim, Norway.
Have a nice day!
-
Gah! Gimme! :-D
Seriously I only come in the vicinity of Trondheim in the summer. My brother lives near Kristiansand though, you don't happen to have relatives i Soerlandet or something?
-edit-
You'd certainly be able to buy a car with that big pile of Miggy-hornyness ;-).
-
Oh man. I want that stuff. I want a cluster of A4000s. That would be like.. the coolest thing in the whole world. Even if I didn't have a use for it, it would be the coolest thing in the world.
I would stack them up like that, network them all, and then wonder what to do next. But I would be very happy.
-
@ Odin
Hmmm... sorry, no, but it's only 6-8 hours of driving thoogh.
Problem is, i don't have a car..- i'm selling this to buy one for my company :-)
-
@xeron
Hehe, i've thought of it myself... a stack of 9 4000's running lightwave or something :-)
A friend of mine pointed out how cool it would be to have one keyboard, one mouse, one monitor and control them all through just that :-)
-
JESUS! .. i live in norway and i want it :)
but hmm why... :D
my gf would probably kill me if i did...
maybe i should.... anyway :)
9 a4000\s ...heh... did you host the aminet server in trondheim or what? , or is it Datakompaniet ? :)
-
@lempkee
Give me a call if you are even slightly interested :-)
And what girlfriends are concerned.... flowers do the work ;-)
-
I think I would just stare on in awe at my Amiga wall for a while, and then try and write something that would allow me to take advantage of distributed computing on AmigaOS.
Or maybe i'd just get all my mates round for a big game of dynAMIte ;-)
-
that is a lot of stuff... how many years worth of collecting is that? 9 amiga 4000s? now that is a tatsey render farm.
how much u wanting for the CDTV mate?
-
@mantisspider
I've been collecting more or less since '97
I'm sorry, but i want to sell it all at once. If you want to buy only the cdtv, you'll have to wait and see who gets it all and then ask the buyer if he/she wants to sell it.
-
shamron: i will have to ask her first :) (she is allready mad about all my boxed games (over 2000+) taking up a full room..
oh and yes i need to go buy a truckload of flowers.
cheers
-
what are the prices? i really might be interested in some of this stuff, since i happen to live in trondheim :-)
Interested in maybe a standard a3000 or 4000 or an a1200 if you have? Also need a tv modulator for my good old a500
-
*sigh*
So I take my bicycle and go to Denmark, embark on the ferry, disembark in Sweden, and then cross the Norwegian border (darn, forgot me passport), go back to the Netherlands and then again to Sweden as described before, and at the and at Trondhjem I ascertain that my bicycle is not fit to take all these miggy's back to the Netherlands
-
YEOW!! Too bad it's Norway with no shipping, I'd give you a pretty penny :-o
-
@redrumloa
You live in the US?
Well, my problem is economical. If i had the money, i could send it (even though it would be a hassle).
Any suggestions?
-
@Shamron
I am trying to get a hold of an associate who is closer to you who could pick it up. Don't hold out for me though, the shipping could be a back breaker. If I can get in touch with my associate he will get in conatct with you:-)
-
@redrumloa
Cool
-
That picture is so cool! :-D
-
Red, you really should get an "associate" in the UK... I wouldn't mind havinh one of thsoe A4Ks... and the A3K and the CDTV... and throw in an A500 while you're at it :-)
-
I'm interested in it (but not the magazines, or the 1942). DHL exists as a courier in Norway right? I could forward funds to cover your packing costs, DHL could come pick it up and send it as a partial pallet to me in Canada (I can probably take care of the paperwork for you as well and send you the proper forms to include with the shipment for Canada Customs etc.). I'm just trying to figure out a fair price for the both of us once I have a good idea on the weight and I manage to track down a freight forwarder in Norway.
On a final note, do all of these units function properly?
Thanks!
-
I live in the UK (Newcastle) and am actually planning to take a ferry and come over and collect it ...how much would you want for the whole lot then? And are they all working?
please email me using my screen name + @yahoo.com
thanks
-
@ odin
Do you think that any of those Amiga 4000s will work?
:-D
-
@CI5:
:lol: If you buy them all there should be at least one functioning, don't you think? :-D
-
I assume that you wont sell individual pieces?
-Thorrin
-
@Odin & c15
They're actually all empty cases :-)
No, seriously... they were last tested 2 months ago, and they all work perfectly. Since they are old (which 4000 isn't?) you might want to change powersupplyfan in them, but apart from that, i have tested them all. One had a keyboard-led that flashed, (due to the battery leakage had damaged the memorybus) but i have soldered on a thin wire here, so no problem. (And yes, i am capable of soldering ;-)
I have thought of a price around 17-19000,- Norwegian Kroner for it all.
What isn't mentioned is that in one of the zorro ports on the 4000T mainboard, sits a peggyplus card. (Decode mpeg video in hardware).
Neither did i bother to photograph all joysticks, floppys, powersupplys, modulators. Know that when this goes, i'll throw in what i have of Amigastuff. All i keep is some cd's, an Amiga 1200 and my second Amiga4000Tower.
Someone will be very happy. (i hope)
PS: Only one of the 4000's has a higher than standard floppy. If you don't know what this means, you don't need to worry.

@Thorrin

Actually Bloodline (Oh BTW hi :-) ) I have an A4000 which won't work, and a spare A4000 mobo which doesn't work either. I was thinking of putting an A1200 mobo into the A4000 case. But it would cost a fair bit for Zorro expansions eh?
-
ok my gf got abit upset after seeing that picture :) , like WHAT DO YOU NEED IT FOR etc... and ofcourse..You just bought a new computer this year....bla bla..
so.., can i atleast buy them games?
if the buyer sees this then maybe we could cut a deal? or maybe the seller wanna? ;)
cheers

Yo, Hi :-)
Anyway, if I ever wanted to take my A1200 out of it's perfect little case and put it into a cumbersome desktop case, then I would, without question, get a PCI busboard for it.
I wouldn't bother with Zorro expansion :-)

Yep! That too! :-)
Well I'll see how I fair with the spare A4000 mobos and if so, I'll probably get an A1200 mobo and plonk it in.
Thanks man. :-)
-
@Jagabot
Concerning if they work or not, i have answered this in a previous post (sorry, long text. Read above please).
Yes, DHL is here in Norway as well.
If i am to send the lot, i want payment in advance. As you can see, the picture is on the webpage of my personal companys webpage, so i hope people trust me that i won't take the money and run :-)
-
Oh oh... can I have that a3k? :-D
And perhaps the CDTV and/or a CD32?
And a few keyboards would be cool too :-D
-
@Kolla
But you already have a 4000.... :-)
Is it still working ok?
Ben.-
-
Ah, yes it works fine, but the mediator I got for it isnt really working that well... yet (I cant get good screenmodes, allthough all the other PCI cards work fine, and I have tried several different Voodoo cards now)
Anyways.. it's just that I want a spare a3k in case the one I have some day decides to not work.
And for the CDTV and CD32, allthough I have both avaible here, none of them are really mine, so...
:-)
-
Heh, so I'm suddenly "Too much Caffeine" - funny :-D
-
For those who want to buy single items...
If noone pics up the whole lot, i'll sell it individually, but i prefer to sell it as "one".
Ben.-
-
You could still get one to...err... impress the friends... you could even put the guts of an A1200 in there :-)
Would there be enough room for a A1200 mobo + accelerator and PCI expansion + PSU in an A4000 desktop case? (of course I could always go for a A4000T case).
-
Shamron wrote:

No way I could pick these up, so I don't have to worry, but in the interests of trivia... What *does* that mean?
-
I have one of those here as well.
It means it's an FB-357A high density drive which goes 1/5th of the way into the lower floppy bay (it's the same hieght as a 2000 floppy, except it's white to match the 4000). I think it's the exact same drive mechanism as a high density drive for an A3000T, except it has a different eject button and a bezel attached. Commodore also made drive covers (bezels) for the bottom bay of the 4000 case in both regular and 2/3 height to accomodate that.
When you have one of these drives (which have a much lower failure rate btw) you don't get to have two floppy drives, although what a person needs two for I never knew... even though I always had two in my Amigas. :-D
-
@Jagabot
Thanks :-)
I guess if i had put some effort in it, o would have come up with a good explanation too, but.. oh, well.. :-)
Ben.-
-
I know I really, really want that A4000T motherboard!! I have an A4000T tower case just itching to get used... :)
Shamron: I live in sweden, couldn´t you consider breaking the A4000T card out of the lot and selling it to me? :)
-
@Orjan
I've sent you a pm.
@anyone who wants to buy single items.
I do wish to sell it all at once, but if noone has decided to buy it or bought it until friday, i will split it up.
Send me an e-mail at bplexman@c2i.net and let me know what you want and where you live.
Ben.-
-
@everybody
I have uploaded a new image with English information here:
www.showoffmedia.no (http://www.showoffmedia.no/amigafjell.jpg)
As i am running a company that's selling signs and decals in Norway, the rest of www.showoffmedia.no is in Norwegian only, but the "advert" is in English.
If you want to contact me, send mail to bplexman@c2i.net
Have a nice day!
Ben.-

Hmmm, I'm not actually sure, thinking about it... maybe not...
When I was typed A1200 in a A4000 case, I was really thinking of a CD32 in an A4000 case (with some hack to get the CDROM drive working), but then I thoguht about a PCI busboard and I don't think they exist for the CD32, so an A1200 would be better. Since there is no point taking a nice small computer of of it's nice small case unless you want to use PCI expansions...
-
@Shamron,
How much would the lot cost in English £ ?
-
1 GBP =11,69 NOK
-
With resect Shamron,
No-one will buy that lot for over £1000 :-o
How much are the offers for A4000T? PMail me!
-
Well, people have offered me enough for single items worth of over £1000 already, so i don't think it will be a problem selling it. It's just that i dont primarily want to split it up.
What the buyer does to it all, i don't really care. Of course i hope the amiga's will get good homes ;-) but if he/she sells them and even earn more money on them, that's okay with me.
I have little experience selling stuff outside Norway, and especially when it's so much. If someone who lives in the UK or US buys it, splits the lot and sell it in single items, he/she wont have any problem getting their money back and even earn money on it.
Ben.-
-
@Shamron:
What makes me really sad about sellers like you (and I'm saying this for your own benefit, not to put you down or anything like that) is the fact that you have a gold mine here, yet you are lazy to take your time, open an eBay account, open a paypal account, and slowly start selling stuff there and watch your earnings sky rocket, that is if those A4000s are indeed in 100% working condition.
OK, you need the money ASAP, I can understand that, but can't there be some other way for you to earn money? Credit? How likely is it that you will AGAIN have such a large Amiga collection that is in demand worldwide so much? You should have thought of earning money for a car beforehand, because I'm telling you, if you let this slip at around 1000 quid as a bulk offer, you will be loosing about potential 3000 or 4000 more had you decided to individually sell items over eBay. Just a suggestion.
-
@x56h34
*sigh* I know. To be honest, yes.. i am lazy. I haven't bothered even going to the paypal-website trying to learn how to even set up an account. What i was hoping, was that someone _honest_ would give me an offer that would make both him and me happy. This hasn't happened though, so i guess you're right. I'll split it up.
Lots more hassle, but as you pointed out, lots more money as well.
Thanks for giving me the kick in the butt i probably
needed. ;-)
-
@Shamron:
You are welcome. :-)
I hope the other guys are not mad though. :ak47:
-
The more homes for all that Amiga stuff, the merrier! :-D

I've now decided that I'm on the lookout foran A1200mobo, I'll see what some experimentation can do. :-D
-
Too bad you are not selling them individually....
Those 4000's look great....
I guess all PAL????
-
@Shamron, you got a goldmine there but I wouldn't hope to sell all in one go for that prise. As you say you can get it if you sell it individually but in a block like that ppl will have to sell off some of it and there's a risk in that which pull down the prise.
Anyway, honestly, when I say that mountain I almost started to drewl. ;-) If it wasn't for the fact that I'm selling out my lowend Amiga stock to buy highend Amiga stuff I would... no... my GF would kill me for sure, better not. :-D
-
@Shamron,
YOU NEED TO SELL YOUR GOODIES INDIVIDUALY!!!
You will get more money, they will also get sold, all of it believe me.
WE ARE ALL NUTTERS! :lol:
