Title: videocard compatibility for classic
Post by: easy_john on March 14, 2010, 11:07:54 AM
Greetings.
I try to systematise my knowledge on compatibility of (top) videocards on classic Amiga, in Amigaos 3.x and 4.

AmigaOS 3.x
Code: [Select]

                    |B/Cvision PPC | Voodoo 3 | Voodoo 4-5 | Radeon
2d graphics         | CGX 4.0-4.2  | P96  2.0 | P96 2.0    | P96 2.1b
Warp3d acceleration | yes          | yes      | yes        | NO
MiniGL              | yes          | yes      | yes        | NO

AmigaOS 4
Code: [Select]

                    |B/Cvision PPC | Voodoo 3 | Voodoo 4-5 | Radeon
2d graphics         | yes          | yes      | yes        | NO
Warp3d acceleration | NO           | ?        | ?          | NO
MiniGL              | NO           | ?        | ?          | NO

Prompt me about those positions with which I have not filled.

I have missed something?
There are any else nuances? Features for example at usage sdl on different card?

UPD: add v4-v5 under os3.x info

Warp3D acceleration works fine on Voodoo 4 and 5 using Warp3D drivers under AmigaOS 3.9. Some people have trouble getting the Voodoo 4 or 5 working at all on some setups. Everything works fine here with Voodoo4 + Mediator 3000T/4000T + CSMK3 68060 with P96.
