Great work.  Actually, I would be insulted if you used the 2000 or the CPC for something like that.  There are many 600's out there, so it's not that blasphemic IMO :-)

Are you getting enough ventilation in the case?

Heat is not an option. The vent in the top and the sides where the pcmcia and floppy was is enough. its only running 1 ghz, and the two 2/5" fans is making enough airflow in the case even with a zalmann fan controller. and it runs at the lowest rpm. Btw. the 'Emulator Box' weight just 2 kg. straigt.. 200 gram less than the original A600HD.

I thought about doing something like this with an amiga 500 I have.

What did you use to get the amiga keyboard working with the pc motherboard?

This is a great idea, because even though its an emulator, you have the look and feel of a real amiga like you remember, but without all the hardware problems and upgrades it would take to get that kind of functionality, great job!

Thx Steven.

I used a 'Keyrah' controller board.
Sadly it does not support A500, or A2000.

Supporting keyboard is C16, C64,VIC20,A600 and A1200.

However, you could pair the Keyrah with an A1200 keyboard and stick that in an A500 case if you have the parts to spare and really wanted to use an A500 case.

Oh yeah thats good to know, I was just wondering recently if the a1200 keyboard would fit in an a500 case.

A500 cases are very common and its a bit roomier for a project like this, you could fit 3 or 4 hard drives, cd-rom whatever inside that longer case.

I think the trick with this is finding a motherboard that the kxlight installation of aforever works with well, that is video and sound thats
built into the motherboard working well. I can't say I've had much luck with the kxlight install, opting instead for windows xp hosted but with windows shell removed, replaced with os3.x

Its very cool to do a project like this and get to use an amiga case and keyboard still, I'd love to build one some day, but I have several other projects brewing already.

Still, if anyone has an old amiga 1200 keyboard, or an a500 case you'd like to part with for such a project, feel free to pm me.

Hey Steven..

Yes, i had also problems installing KX-Light.

But i disconnected the first HD, and installed it to the new HD. Thats done the trick, for this MOBO.

Btw. http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/ selling all kinds of Amiga stuff.
Thats where i got the 'Keyrah' , allso got some 'Coccolino' mouse adaptors there, because next project will be an inbuild PS/2 mouse port on one of my A600.

Thx. klapdeur.
The sound is mounted on the Epia board, 3 pins. and goes to a female mini-jack at the rear end, just besides the PS/2 ports.

Sorry, it was not shown in the PIX.
