Title: Amiga Inc. STILL no updates?
Post by: Tension on February 28, 2010, 02:27:39 AM
Is no-one from Amiga Inc. going to even give us a statement about what's happening.  If they have gone tits-up, could an ex-employee not let us know what's happening.  Seems so strange that nobody knows what's going on.

Anyone from Hyperion on this forum?  Surely they must know something...

Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still very seriously dead.

meh.. who cares.  Hyperion has the ball and is running with it.  Best of luck to them, the more competent players in the Amiga world, the better.

I think there lack of even any statement is indication enough of whats happening. I find it kind of funny and sad at the same time.

The least they could do is release some statement saying they are ceasing operations or whatever, but no, nothing at all from them. This more than anything speaks volumes about how much they care about amiga, its users and fans, and the amiga lineage.

but this is nothing new.  who gives a (insert expletive) ?  they've been lying for years.  If they were to come out with any news, to me and many others, it would just be vapourware or another lie.

Hopefully they die a quick and quiet death.

Honestly I could give a sh#t less if we never hear another word from them dumbasses again.  Whenever they open thier mouths all they do is lie to us anyways.  Good riddence to them and thier crock of crap!

What ex-employee? The problem is that there wasn't anyone left to pay the hosting/domain fees...

I don't think that's correct. The domain doesn't expire until June 2011, so there shouldn't have been any fees to pay until then. I believe the domain was actually suspended due to the contact details on the whois record being inappropriate. Still, the fact that nobody from AInc has corrected this and had the domain reinstated is quite telling in itself...

Its shocking.

It stopped being shocking after the coupon scam.

Now that Pentti Kouri is dead, I can't see anyone else foolish enough to invest in Ainc.

I hope eventually Hperion will take the remaing Amiga IP, they already have the rights to the most significant parts anyway.

As much cr*p as they get from folks here... deserved as it is..... you think they'd bother making a pubic announcement here?

I am not surprised in the slightest that there has been no announcement.

They don't deserve it. They didn't meet their contractual obligations in the 2000's with AOS4. Amiga Inc is just as much of a victim of Hyperion's incompetence as Hyperion is a victim of Amiga Inc's insanity. As far as I'm concerned they can both burn in hell.

you kind of sound like a ****. I don't think hyperion could have done the job any better than they did, I mean, with what money?

I thought Hyperion did a good job. We waited nearly 5 years for Gateway to do something and they didn't.

It's funny to hear someone talk about Amiga Inc. being the victim of Hyperion (or anyone else).  Did AI ever follow through on anything or was it all a bunch of lies?  My favorite was the $10 Million stadium sponsorship deal.

Now, that was epic.

Amiga Inc., all incarnations of it, alienated themselves from the community that stood behind the name. No one else cared. So they really didn't have a prayer of being a solvent corporation. It was all a scam from my point of view.

Who else is going to be bidding in the name auction?  I'm in, but I don't think I have enough money to beat Spanish Lesbians.....

Hmmmmmm, that sentence reads a little funny.....

I don't really think it'll be in demand. I'll buy it, if it's under £30
